Hi guys,
Before i am not sure if this is the correct place to post this & this is not an advertisement. I am NOT looking for new players. I would like some help to stress test my MindCrack server at 18:00 (GMT) on Friday 26th July 2013. If anybody would connect or has multiple accounts and could join the IP: mindsmash.net at 18:00 tomorrow it would be much appreciated.

The aim is to see if the server can handle the 50 players i think it can without it's tps getting too low. this is so that i can lower the player count if this test proves too much for the server.

Again this is not an advertisement and I am not looking for new players, this is just a stress test. Nobody will be able to build etc so don't think this is a grief opportunity.

Any help from individuals or players with multiple accounts would be appreciated.

Thank you very much

TPS loss is mainly going to come when people start actually building things. You may want to turn building on, back the server up and let people go apeshit if you really want to stress test. Otherwise you will get a false sense of what to expect and this would be pointless.

Ask BossRedRanger and/or Corjaantje to play an hour or two on your server. Give'em Creative and tell them to go crazy. There you have your TPS stress test. ;)

Grrrrrrrrr.....
Lucky my Internet is acting weird. But poppy has free reign in the base now so he should have the power saw operational..... Muhahahahahahaha

Thanks for your input guys, i agree having players go nuts would seem to be a much better test. If i could have some players that can build crazy contraptions as well as a large amount of players to take the 50 spaces that would be great. Unfortunately i don't know these people you have mentioned but if you can contact them and ask them to come on at 18:00 gmt to do what you just said that would be great. I'll have creative mode on with a back up version of the world. Again as many people as possible and people to build lag machines would be great. I'll switch creative on from between 18:00 & 19:00 gmt today

I have a small suggestion, that when coordinating something like this it's easy to get confused about time zones, maybe a countdown site would be a useful idea for you. I know that I have found those invaluable in the past in other games when coordinating attacks amongst international clan members.

I know you might think it's daft and that people can do simple calculations, but we're actually in BST right now which is GMT + 1, so I wouldn't know whether to connect at 6pm or 7pm from your post. (Won't be at the computer at either of those times though, sorry).

Good luck with your stress test and your server. Hope you don't hate my suggestion.

It is happening right now, people are frantically trying to crash the server but we don't really have anyone that knows what the best way to go about it is. If you could get a pro server crasher for me that would be great. Server is staying at 20 tics and cpu load not going over 50% atm. Either need a lot more people or a pro server crasher. You can come on any time its happening right now ip is mindsmash.net

Not to be mean, but this is a mindcrack 1.4.7 server. With FTB finally going to 1.5 officially and DIY & smaller packs gearing up for 1.6, I don't see a lot of interest coming your way.

I mean you're offering people free reign to crash a server and giving them creative mode. If your server isn't full, then maybe there's a reason. People generally enjoy rampant acts of chaos, they must be otherwise distracted.

This is not about the server itself as such. Its more about being able to keep a server stable (any server) What i learn from this i can take to any new server builds etc. I imagine most mod packs will require similar resources. so i can use what i take in from this test to any future mod packs i may use. I'm just taking a guess but i'd imagine mindcrack will have a new mod pack coming out at some point so i'm going to wait they have to offer (if anything) before i rush into a new modpack for 1.6 (skipping 1.5 i dont see the point in switching to a beta build server that may not be compatible with full release versions)

With the changes in 1.6, nothing right now will be able to be ported over easily. 1.5 is as stable as its going to get since no one is really developing for it with 1.6 already out. IJS. Good luck to you though
