I have both SphaxPureBD Craft and SEUS Shaders installed and running in FTB Infinity modpack, and the issue I am having is that thermal expansion blocks when placed in the world (eg.pulverizer), flicker purple with the shaders pack and I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem as well.

I know that this issue might not be tagged with Sphax texture pack and it might just be the shaders mod itself but if anyone has any work around to fix this issue or any other shader pack that works just as good or better to resolve this issue that would be great, thanks.

You can see if the issue is with Sphax, remove it and see, also are you running Optifine because that will cause problems.

Yes I am running optifine I have also noticed that other streamers have had this issue with their shader pack. I thought optifine was needed for Shader packs? and when I turn off the shaders pack TE blocks look fine, so it's the shader pack as far as I can tell.

Shaders cause this problem with Thermal Expansion machines. Nothing you can do right now.

It has to do with layered textures. Basically, it's not going to work until Optifine rewrites its code, which it won't because the current maintainer realizes this would require a complete rewrite and doesn't want to do that.

But hey, at least it doesn't have world corruption crashes anymore, so it's a start.

Theoretically, couldn't someone make a mod that fixes optifine's code?

No, it could not. Without getting into complications, I will give you a metaphor. As with any metaphor, it is not exact, but it gives you an idea of why.

If you want to think of Optifine as a house with asbestos, lead paint, and aluminum wiring, but it has brand new siding to make it look good. Every so often the wiring starts a small fire, which is then put out and the problem papered over with oiled wax paper because it is waterproof. The only solution to fix this problem is going to be ripping out everything wrong with it and starting over.

The most beautiful metaphor I have seen in a long time. Truly poetic :p
