for some reason items just stopped being sorted? Idk what is wrong. I have them set up with pneumatic tubes going to barrels.

I have power and it was sorting earlier so any reasons why it may have stopped?

It maybe jammed, drop a chest next to a tube near the sorter and see what pops out.

I was just about to post a very similar problem when I noticed this thread. My cobblestone chest was full sand there was cobblestone that had backed up into the sorting machine and that's why it stopped. Time to plumb in the Recycler I think!

Are your tubes feeding into the top of the barrels? Barrels are supposed to only accept input from the top. (although I have a few barrels in my storage room that also accept from the bottom.)

i have 2 rows of barrels the bottom one only get from the top.

But the top row has tubes under and above the barrel which it should not get backed up

My guess is that it is detecting the barrel as a single inventory and only checking the nearest insertion point (bottom) and thus backing up once there is a stack inside (a barrel will take up to 1 stack via RP tubes in the bottom). Place some covers to prevent them from connecting to the bottoms of the barrels and see if that fixes the problems.

Just the standard RP covers made by cutting a block with a handsaw. Make sure you go all the way down to covers, and you will want the tubes on before you place them. You may need to shift-click to prevent yourself from opening the barrel instead of placing them.
