Thinking about grief protection and how a lot of cool mods support this (warded glass, forcefields etc).

One thing that would be awesome if nobody has thought of it yet, would be some kind of access control for your AE network. Something which is a config setting of the ME Controller itself. Similar to how Tesseracts allow you to lock them to personal or public frequencies.

This way, you could stick your entire inventory in an AE Network, encased in warded blocks, and set it to private, and be 100% secure. As it is now, even if you do this, someone can theoretically come along and hook up ME Cable to any exposed part of your network, and hook up an access terminal to drain all your stuff out even if they couldn't get to the physical storage units. Access control would prevent that.

Currently the only way to do this is to make an entire building out of warded blocks, to put your ME network inside.

Wow that's awesome. :)

The suggested features are coming along nicely. One thing that doesn't appear to be listed would be to allow you to type in your NEI filter while looking at the crafting terminal. As it is now, you have to type in your filter first then open the terminal.

Good stuff. Can't wait for the access security.

In the meantime I'd suggest finding a server that has mature players. I've been lucky because I've only played on 2 servers in a year of MC. One was vanilla and the only grief issues occurred after I was a mod, so I was my own sheriff. The other is RR TS1, which is full of cool people that don't grief. I'm usually in the dark ages compared to their tech anyways :p

Put your drives within a encasing of warder glass. No one can nick the drives. If you want to make sure they can't take anything from your storage you might want to build your entire base out of warded blocks.

pretty sure you're wrong here. I can certainly search for things in NEI while looking at the crafting terminal..

It depends on what AE block you using. The crafting terminal will not let you search NEI. You must exit the terminal do you NEI search then go back to the terminal. The pattern encoder does allow you to search NEI and shift click the recipe in and encode it.

Interesting. I wonder if it has to do with the GUI scale? Because I know it doesn't work on my system. The crafting terminal goes from top to bottom of the screen so there is no room for the NEI search bar. I will experiment tonight with the GUI scale.

Yes. You'll need to allow more room in your GUI for NEI + AE to both fit. I usually don't bother placing an ME Interface Terminal and instead just craft it as part of crafting a Crafting Terminal. The ME Interface Terminal does allow more browsing space vs. the Crafting Terminal, but it's mostly redundant, especially when the Wireless Access Terminal is used.

Yes, regarding the GUI scale and seeing the NEI search window. I had the same problem. You need to change the GUI scale from auto to Large (in my case 23 in monitor) That fixed me right up.

Doesn't work for me, I can't even toggle NEI (the search bar in AE terminals captures all alphanumeric keystrokes, here)

go into your inventory while NOT in the crafting terminal, press O, now exit it and enter the terminal. It should be there.

I know that, and that's a workaround. You can't do it while you are in the terminal, no matter what your GUI scale is.

If you've got it up, you can click in the search field at the bottom, yes. But that's not what I was talking about.

I can see it by default in the terminal, and it seems to be an issue of resolution. At fullscreen it's there, but if I make the window smaller it quickly disappears. Not sure what the exact cutoff numbers are.
