I know the derpiness of that mod with magnum torches, but that's an awesome pic none the less :p

Aren't those those Veloraptobirddeaththings?

Got hit twice by one, died then uninstalled all the new mob additions.

Monster is fun but having my food bar deplete because I am looking for a place to sleep is not "fun." Nor is being chased down by Skeletons holding Swords that fire arrows with an invisible bow, or running from a Creeper that is literally running at me. Throw into the mix getting divebombed by these monstrosities that do 10 HP damage per hit and I'll accept any "peace out 1.0.6" mob cards.

They are the new V-something raptors from Lycanite mobs. He also added some Jungle U-something raptors to the jungle biomes. They can be tamed and ridden around, I believe they glide or something. Issue is actually with Magnum Torches not affecting Lycanite Mobs or Specialmob jockey-mobs. Torches are stopping Vanilla mobs from spawning so tons of them are taking up the space. It's a scary sight to behold. :p

Those are Ventoraptors and Uvaraptors

Here is their description from the Lycanites Mobs Changelog
  • Raptors are large bird-like creatures with the ability to glide and jump great distances, both of them spawn at night but will stick around through the day so beware as they are very hostile towards players, villagers and yummy animals!
  • They can be tamed and then healed with any cooked meat (this will change later) and once given a saddle, they can be used as very fast mounts, they both have similar mount abilities:
  • The Ventoraptor can leap across far distances at a great speed.
  • The Uvaraptor isn't as fast as the Ventoraptor and won't glide as far forwards however it can jump upwards extremely high.

do people really not understand that they are .disabled for a reason? ie because not all players want harder, or extra, mobs? They are there specifically for those players and severs who want them.

Hmm, need to update my Lycanites Mobs on my server. But, I always ensure that mobs DO despawn, too much risk of overloading game with too many mobs.

Yep, Definitely enjoy the game being harder and with SpecialMobs and Lycanitemobs, the nether is a nightmare unless you're geared to the teeth. When magnum torches are working right and I don't have to "cofh killall plains" or "cofh killall swamp" I'll be making one hell of a stables for all my exotic tamed pets and farmed mobs.

From some of the threads I've read I'd say no, seems to me first thing people are doing is enabling everything that's disabled as though it were some sort of bug they know how to fix and then complain about the mods they enabled being in the packs.

Not that I'm suggesting anybody in this thread is guilty of that because I haven't seen any posts here like that, but that is my overall observation forum-wide thus far.

No, but the mod authors all know and are looking into a fix.

I think it's down to the Extra Utilities mod I think, if it targets both the EnumCreatureType and checks for IMob, stopping either of those from spawning it should catch everything except the Pinkies, Jousts (non alpha) and Aspids as they are classed as animals so that golems don't attack them and that if not despawning naturally, they don't eat up all the monster spawns.

Walk around with a stack of cooked meat and feed them all, then you'll have your very own personal raptor army!

Haha, I just have to spam "/killall" but I was able to mitigate some of the headache and farm trampling for the time being by planting a bunch of silverwood trees and changing over the biome to magical forest. Definitely was time consuming and just outside of my border I still have tons of them, but at least it's playable now. :p

I've sent you a PM on MCF. If any other compatibilities come up with my mod just PM me about it and I'll take a look when I can, mod packs are a great way to find annoying bugs especially FTB!
