Guys what's the trick to getting a level three (magician's) blood orb? It requires 25K LP. The altar can hold 10k. I wasn't able to sacrifice myself fast enough to get my orb.
Dang, I was hoping to skip the apprentice orb. I'll do that.More runes of capacity in the altar will help.

bleh. 45 minutes just to get the apprentice orb. I'm such a noob.
In my defense, NEI kinda omits the fact that you need 3k witchery "altar" power to make golden chalk. And then the first wiki I found said you only need 2.8k.
I have created the basic thermal expansion machines, have my water wheels, and am scouring the nether to try and make my first hammer completely out of cobalt. I am not sure exactly what the logical next step in this pack is. I am trying to make a mining laser right now, and I would like to upgrade my jetpack but that seems to be gated behind processing IC2 uranium, which I really have no clue how to do. What should I do next?
As a side not I will probably just neglect storage all the way until the end game when I get AE..... and I probably won't build a proper base until after that.
Yep. Another thing NEI and wiki didn't think to tell me is that sometimes altar work can cause a mysterious giant explosion making you start over. Bleh.Ok, now I see you did not advanved as fast as I thoguht the other day my bad.
And I feel you Had the same problem with the golden chalk.
Another question. I'm going through wikis on forbidden magic now, since Dentvar brought it up. I'm wondering: Can a "Collar of Pain", which generates vis when you take damage, be combined with blood magic (which lets you damage yourself) to generate vis easily?
Yep I could see how that could be the case, although I'll say that it depends on the implementation. And the fact that the damage can raise a death event preserves the possibility that its doing legit damage.Blood Magic technically doesn't damage you so much as it just arbitrarily makes you have less HP, so the collar probably won't be much help for that.
That page just shows what (if any) enchantments you can put on the item you are looking up. Since you can soul bound any object you can hold/loose upon death, that's why it is always there. Can someone tell me what the "Enchantment" pages in NEI are all about? Its always everyday items giving enchantments like "Soulbound" etc.
Ah got it. Its a bit misleading to me because its a U recipe rather than an R recipe, which suggests (to me) that, say, 18 Ordo Stone can somehow provide soulbound to somethingThat page just shows what (if any) enchantments you can put on the item you are looking up. Look up a sword and see the list on it to give you a better idea

Yeah I saw that one. I thought the conversion rate was a bit alarming for me: I'm at a point where I know how to add 1k (?) LP at a time by right-clicking.
I know lots of people are setting up something called a well of suffering or some such that can generate LP automatically, but I'm not at that point.
Yep makes sense. No, it really doesn't. I've looked AT the source. It doesn't damage you. The death event bypasses most normal death prevention methods. Ever overdo the sacrificial knife while carrying death protection poppets and life charms? It doesn't care. You just die.
1) What tier altar do I need to make well of suffering in this pack? When you get your Well of Suffering up, cage a few witches (name them so they don't despawn) in the effected area. They will drink a Potion of Healing every time they take damage from the Well, so they are effectively immoral. You can see how this has wonderful benefits for you.
1) idk1) What tier altar do I need to make well of suffering in this pack?
2) Which cage are you talking about?
3) Um, under what circumstances do I care about blood vs networked LP?
It still needs a tier 4 alter. The only tier swapping expert mode does to my knowledge is Sacrifice runes being t3, and Capacity being t2.1) What tier altar do I need to make well of suffering in this pack?
