Pictures, videos, or descriptions of things you have built:
I'm an extremely aesthetic builder. I honestly don't think I have any pics on my PC from MC right now.
One building I made was a very large business tower that had lines and angles that gave it serious attitude. Imagine an L-shaped tower that tapers forwards and out as it begins to flirt with the clouds. Throw a beacon on top of it and you have something that was visible from extreme draw range. I thought it was great. I've also designed some of the most detailed mine shafts that have great attention to aesthetic detail. Wooden boards blocking overheads combined with pillars of rock with veins of ore artistically piercing through them at odd angles brings a striking amount of realism to an underground shaft. It's called Minecraft and I like to focus on the mine detail.
For smaller things I've done, I also love to build small and intimate communities of houses. Connected with various types of roads such as dirt, stone and cobble I do my best to bring out the warmth that should be found in a small village or community. Little barbecue shacks with a warm fire and tiny smoke column with benches and tables for people to relax in while the steaks cook up can be found in my community areas. You can also find private getaways such as small flower gardens with ornamental vines and stones giving a surreal visual to the surrounding atmosphere. Tree houses, viewpoints and other atmospheric points of interest can be found dotting the landscape of areas I've touched.
I've also worked on some castles. I love me some Minecraft castles
I've made quite a few, and my favorite one was just on the outskirts of a redwood forest. With a drawbridge reaching over a small moat one could be greeted openly -- if accepted by the guards -- and they would enter in to what seemed like a small city. Complete with medieval amenities such as wells, molten lava pits, watering holes, small farm strips and even wagons you could be at home instantly. Hidden passageways complete with secret doors bring a magical feel to the cellars. Rich and vibrant colors offer a sense of wealth and accomplishment as the towers seclude the masters of the castle.
All this stuff I create because I care about detail and appreciate that Minecraft is not just an 8-bit block building game. It's a place where architecture can be explored and developed.
Are you community-oriented or a solo player?
I love interacting with a community. I enjoy finding a place to help out, seeing what services I can offer a group and then put forward my all to fill that role.
Do you have a microphone?
Yep. I'm an audio tech in real life so a lot of times people sound like I'm right in their head
I have a professional Blue Reactor studio microphone.
Are you willing to participate on a regular basis in TeamSpeak3?
Absolutely! Community goes beyond text in game.
How long you been playing Minecraft?
Since Alpha. I haven't really played it solidly since servers always seem to have up and down time so I do some initial craftings on my own computer then bring ideas to public servers. Recently things have been better but since the whole horse patch it has sent a lot of older servers into chaos. I've lost a lot of good work, and some friends as they've left the game for other pursuits.
I still remember my first day digging straight down finding a huge cave and thinking WOW THIS IS SO COOL and then looking back down, taking one more dig and then *PLOP* into the lava. I was hooked after that.
How long have you been playing FTB?
About 5 months. A friend told me about it and I got hooked on it when I found out there was more to Minecraft than vanilla. It turned my mind upside down. I still am working out some of the GregTech complications as those presented me with some real initial challenges but since then things have been fairly smooth sailing and I'm proud to say I'm an FTB-lifer
What is the time period that you typically play?
I play during days and evenings. As an audio tech I work at home getting piecemeal work for on-call jobs. I love to hang out in Minecraft during the day just fine-tuning smaller things and thinking up big new projects. Then at night I hammer away, developing the structures and atmospheres I think up. Or, I'll spend some time just hanging out in teamspeak and having a good time with friends.
Are there any other games that you play?
I've played and still do play League of Legends and World of Tanks. As of right now though those games are extremely competitive and I just want something to do with my time where I don't feel compelled to *waste* time so much as fill my time with a sense of accomplishment and friendship. I can yell at people in those games whereas when playing Minecraft with people I can make friends.
How many hours a day do you play games?
It depends, anywhere between 4 hours to 12 hours.
Do you have hairy arms?
I wouldn't really say so.
