I see. Well, the number of bugs that has been fixed since v19 is significant. Hope you won't run into any of them. Some are rather annoying.

I only had one bug really ( turbine generator turning into heavy water extractor if you broke a block ), but I personally did indeed upgrade to 25z. I did it for the performance gains though.

Hey guys,

Need some advice/help again.

We recently finished our underwater base and I finally moved my RoC setup there and also expanded it. Currently I have 2 gas turbines powering:
5xExtractors (4:1 Torque gearbox)
4 x grinders
2 x ferminters
3 x Frac units

I seem to have so much speed and torque coming from the turbines and I don't know if im harnessing the full potential.

What I want to find out is how can I increase the extractors stages or is this a matter of just adding more gas turbines?

My setup so far:

3x
MicroTurbine-8:1 Torque-Friction Heater-Blast Furnace
To make steel and bedrock things

2x
Gasoline-16:1 Speed-Fermenters
For yeast and sludge

Both Fermenters and Blast Furnaces automated with ME Interfaces, Translocators and Transvector Interfaces

3x
Performance-2:1 Speed-Grinders
Lube production

2x
Micro-Turbine-8:1 Torque-Grinder
Tar Sand and Netherrack Dust production

1x
Micro-Turbine-16:1 CVT Speed-Fractionation Unit
Jet Fuel(0.05s production time)

4x Extractors
MicroTurbine-32:1 CVT Torque-Stage 1
MicroTurbine-2:1 Torque-Stage 2
MicroTurbine-4:1 Torque-Stage 3
MicroTurbine-16:1 Torque-Stage 4

Using Routers to pull out intermediate products(SorryNotSorry @Reika)

Gas Turbine-8:1 Torque-Bedrock Breaker
Jet fuel sent thru tesseract

That's an interesting setup, any reason why u wouldn't just run this all off gas turbines?

also how do I go about changing the torque per stage on 1 extractor?

thanks for the help!

so in the CVT settings there is the ability to set torque according to stages or timing?

Sorry never built a CVT as yet

You can set the ratios for redstone on and redstone off separately. Then you can use a timer.

Because gas turbines are dangerous as hell and won't fit in my base design. Also easier to transport jet fuel around rather than shaft power

I know dat feel bro...why does the intake cone has to be so frikkin huge, even at 6.25% speed?

Lol that they are, but carting fuel isn't an issue. I use the ME fluid system which works well enough, also I block access to the back of the gas turbines stopping ppl from being blended and its cased in obsidian walls, so in the event it does blow up its contained inside the walls.

Way I'm doing it atm (Low-tech, relatively) is to hook a gas engine up to a steel 16:1 gearbox; torque mode does step one and four, whack it with the screwdriver for steps 3 and 4 (speed mode).

Sure, it needs babying a little but for the start it works nice.

Couldn't get my ME system to work with the jet fuel for some reason so just using a railcraft tank and tesseracts with fluiducts. It's not the blending that's the issue, that's easy to work around, it's the being sucked around ur base and damaging everything behind it that's making me not use them for anything but the bedrock.

However I'm considering using them for the outside of my tower to power base defense, just need to do some research on weapons that don't annihilate the surrounding land. Before anyone says, yes I know I've seen the configs, it's my next proiject, haven't got there yet

Im used the ME Fluid exported from underneath. Take a RoC empty barrel and use the ME Fluid display to fill the empty barrel with fuel and then just link it with the exporter and it should work. As far as being sucked around your base that should happen when the export vent is facing away from everything. I tend to put my gas turbines down about 3 blocks away from a wall and then encase it in obsidian walls. Make sure to leave a gap of 3 spaces and just corner it off that no1 can get behind or next to them, problem solved. This is how im currently doin it and works perfectly.

Yeah I know how to do it, it just didn't work, was either an old RC or ExtraCells version and haven't tried it since I updated.

I know there are solutions to it, but none that will fit into my base design, hence the microturbine work around

The problem is, either you can't have any room behind that wall or even anywhere near it, or you have to run long shafts or wires to where the power is needed. Either way gas turbines are highly unflexible.

Iv managed fairly ok. Our underwater base has a "basement level" which is where I put my turbines and then just connected everything above it at "ground level". Ill try see if I can take a few screenies and post them.

Note the indication at the bottom. "Idle Power".

I just thought about this:
Next thing: the DC electric engine explodes violently when the redstone strength is greater than 12...everything kills you in Rotarycraft...
