We practically are the tekkit forums.

Untrue. These days Tekkit has better technology and their packs are more up-to-date. They also are a heck of a lot more responsive to mod authors, to hear some folks tell the story.

The only thing we got over them is that our demagogues are more sane and better at Minecraft than their demagogues.

Yep! And the Tekkit forums have Whale Box

Like the fact that people chasing a ball around a field for over an hour is entertaining. That's pretty damn nonsensical.
Agree on that too. Sometimes nonesensical things can be fun, like watching a tv show or running around after a ball, other times, those nonesensical things can be downright destructive, disgusting and an impediment to the human race as a whole.

Oh Christ don't get me started on that subject. I'll talk for hours and then the thread will get locked for being off-topic.

Respect points to the both of you for avoiding that subject. And Lambert, you sneaky devil. I see what you did there.

I might have an explanation as to Eloraam's taking forever to update. She's too busy dating Flowerchild.
That totally made the previous 20 pages worth my time. Anyone who knows their history just laughed their collective asses off =)

Someone mentioned it's far to early to pronounce RP2 dead. Agreed, there are several major mods that are not 1.5.x ready, so this is really a pointless conversation. And to those of you who think Elo owes us anything, even a tweet? Well, I think you're wrong (you have no idea how many times I re-wrote that sentence).

The problem (also mentioned before) is that RP2 is so damn big, useful and pervasive! I keep thinking "Oh, well it's just transport and sorting, AE's got me covered" and then I remember Project tables, red-alloy wire/jacketed cable, logic gates, micro blocks, world gen, the bloody sickle...it goes on and on. And no, I don't want to replace it with a half dozen other mods, any one of which could easily end up in the same boat.

I've said it before, the villain here is Mojang (yes, that's hyperbole), in giving us updates that provide very little in terms of useful features (obviously very much my opinion), but change enough "under the hood" that force major re-writes of mods. Hopefully the advances in Forge contribute to making version updates to mods far less painful.

My understanding was that 1.5 includes some pretty big performance improvements, which are useful for those of us that use older hardware.

Imo, the under the hood changes is what Mojang should concentrate on. I personally don't like the idea of vanilla straying too far from vanilla.

Horses? For the everlasting love of christ.... Wish they just stuck with pigs.

let mods be mods and let vanilla be vanilla... instead of making mods obsolete by copying (poorly) their ideas.
So what's that now...
Enderchests
Hoppers
Horses
What's next? A vanilla quarry?

I am actually REALLY excited about horses actually. People always seem to dislike when mojang adds mobs, especially when just for atmosphere. I don't get that at all. First of all horses do fit in pretty well with vanilla, secondly (assuming they are Like Dr zharks horses) they will add a fun new mechanic to the game. I don't get why people get so upset when mojang adds stuff even if they aren't particularly interested in it. Minecraft is not made solely to play with mods, its a game itself and a lot of people play it by itself, mods are cool, which is why mojang supports them, but they shouldn't design their game around people modding it[DOUBLEPOST=1365880596][/DOUBLEPOST]

vanilla Enderchests were stupid, mainly because they arent an actual inventory, and because they had one channel. Hoppers aren't bad, pipes or something might have been better but until now vanilla players had no one to move items in and out of chests. You can't say they copied horses because Dr zhark is helping them add stuff and supports them. Considering how many problems mo creatures has I am surprised why people are so mad about this

I'm not mad about it, I just wish they'd spend their time on more worthwhile enterprises. This is the entire reason BTW was created, because Mojang adds broken bullshit instead of fixing the existing broken bullshit.

Whenever mojang tries to fix/improve stuff it seems like they either make it worse, undo all of it, or make modders basically rewrite their mod. So I would rather new features instead

which is precicely why most people who are into modded minecraft really doesn't give too many fucks about what Mojang can bring to the table anymore, it's all about what the mods can do for us.
