You know what I think? Your lossWhen I select mods for a pack if it is labeled perm, I think twice. That is sad for mods that are good.

And you can't take them down? If they do that now, what would change if you just opened perms?Btw, I currently have a list of 98 websites redistributing mods (outside modpacks), and about 80% of them are earning money on other peoples mods without permission.
Not really... If it is going to annoying to get a hold of, it just isn't worth it. Pack devving takes insane amounts of time (as modding does as well) so slowdown like that for say 20 mods in a large pack could really get stupid...You know what I think? Your loss
She'd then have a list of 10 times that amountAnd you can't take them down? If they do that now, what would change if you just opened perms?
I'm not using money on a lawyer. I've sent DMCA takedown notices to several of them though. This is a big problem in the community. stopmodreposts.orgAnd you can't take them down? If they do that now, what would change if you just opened perms?
Thank you. I don't want to casue trouble just sharing my opinion, which I am acknowledging could be wrong. I'm sorry I don't follow. Do you mean people would steal the code for the mod and use it in their crappy ones? You seem like a nice guy dude, you really do, but the problem with all of these permission things just plain comes down to people not wanting their mods to be mutilated by 50+ miles of Dirt-to-Diamonds scrap
It's a shame bad guys can do this kind of thing, and the good people have to work to stop it..Same thing happens IRL a lot I bet. Small company designs something good, bigger company steals the idea, smaller company can't afford to sue and the bigger company makes the profit.I'm not using money on a lawyer. It is not easy at all... I have lost over 10 hours of work in the last few days do to HQM being retarded and corrupting my quest file over and over again...To be brutally honest, I do understand the whole "outdated mod" thing. I'm currently devving a 99 mod pack and have found myself constantly downloading updates every three days. Being a pack dev truly isn't easy
Basically imaging people doing anything and everything with the mod: Adding shortcuts to their favorite endgame power device, making MineTweaker edits so machines are horrendously cheap (2 Iron Ingot Macerator for example), and flooding the files with the infamous Dirt-to-Diamonds hack.Thank you. I have the resources, but I prefer to not spend them on lawyers. Also those websites are oftenly hosted in Vietnam and similar countries, which don't follow international copyright laws. It's a shame bad guys can do this kind of thing, and the good people have to work to stop it..Same thing happens IRL a lot I bet. That kind of thing does not happen with a mod like open-blocks though right? What is the difference?Basically imaging people doing anything and everything with the mod: Adding shortcuts to their favorite endgame power device, making MineTweaker edits so machines are horrendously cheap (2 Iron Ingot Macerator for example), and flooding the files with the infamous Dirt-to-Diamonds hack.
It'd be pure mod anarchy... Not as fun as it seems
I have an API; to my knowledge there is only one mod that uses it - AE, and that was because Horizons was originally not going to have TE, and thus RC was going to be AE's only power source, and Slow specifically requested he add support.Well that's when you make an API and tell fans to go crazy
Maybe we should start some sort of FTB packers association, IDK what we'd do but it sounds cool!It is not easy at all... I have lost over 10 hours of work in the last few days do to HQM being retarded and corrupting my quest file over and over again...
I see... That is annoying to the fullest then. I understand.I have the resources, but I prefer to not spend them on lawyers. Also those websites are oftenly hosted in Vietnam and similar countries, which don't follow international copyright laws.
The difference is that Open Blocks doesn't have that large of a community and, to my knowledge, isn't featured much on TechnicThat kind of thing does not happen with a mod like open-blocks though right? What is the difference?
Yea, we would get an awesome acronym and be super BA. Honestly right now I wish I new how to get in contact with one of the HQM devs to ask wth is going on...Maybe we should start some sort of FTB packers association, IDK what we'd do but it sounds cool!
Open blocks is pretty popular though... It is in just about every pack I play nowadays. The difference is that Open Blocks doesn't have that large of a community and, to my knowledge, isn't featured much on Technic
Plus, if we formed it we could have weekly votes on what mods we could pester certain devs to make.Yea, we would get an awesome acronym and be super BA. Honestly right now I wish I new how to get in contact with one of the HQM devs to ask wth is going on...
