Unfortunately, that will immediately be labelled DRM: "OMG REIKA IS PREVENTING PEOPLE FROM GETTING HIS MOD UNLESS THEY PASS A TEST!"

Also people who get it via mod-pack can still ruin your day. Of course, Kingdom of Loathing demands you pass an English test before you can use chat, so if the test is short and simple, you can probably get away with it.

Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
I think this is becoming more hassle than needed. Something like 'server owners and pack makers read this before downloading' would suffice .
Anyone who can't be bothered to read it isn't worth bothering with in turn.

In recent news;

I don't mean to cause trouble, but looking at (packname)... [insert flamebait here]

This falls under the same thing as saying 'no offence' then saying something offensive.
Instead of reconsidering one's words, you just acknowledge that they might cause issues and carry like before.
You're basically saying 'I know this will cause trouble so I'll do it anyway'
It doesn't magically make a statement not cause problems; IMHO it makes the situation worse because you're telling everyone that you're doing it deliberately.

Oh this should be good...
TL;DR:
"Modpack permissions are blatantly illegal, against the EULA, and as immoral as raping a kitten. Mod authors can claim no rights with their mod, and only an egotistical maniac would claim he owns a mod.".

This sort of view is usually held by the same people who equate copyright with theft from "the rightful owners".

I feel as dumb as them, because I literally facepalmed so hard in real life that my forehead and wrist hurt.

Also, hopefully this will mean I do not need to re-explain this daily:

Thanks for providing this informative piece of text. Now I see why all these things are getting on your nerves.

But how come that no other mod author feels the need to do similar things as you? Messing up the balance with Minetweaker can easily happen in other mods as well.

For instance, take Gregtech. Its tech tree is similarly complex to Rotarycraft's. Let's say item X requires aluminum ingots but is fairly cheap otherwise. A pack author might go ahead and make it require 27 diamonds instead. Suddenly X can be obtained before you have an electric blast furnce.
And if some item Y is disabled it can cause inaccessibility of a subtree just as well as in your mods.

You see the point, one can easily mess it up when the balance and tech tree are sufficiently complex.
How come that Gregtech doesn't need to make these kinds of restrictions? Is it because Greg has a thick skin and just doesn't care? Is it because people don't use Minetweaker as often or as extensively than with your mods?

By the way, before I started to use your mods I was kinda thinking "wow, this mod's developer is kind of a douche" because of the way you reacted to stupid comments, no offense (really not @Celestialphoenix). People can't tell stupid comments apart from valid suggestions and critics and think you would generally behave like that. This, paired with the restrictions you're making, is really ruining your PR.
The first impression counts.

(by the way: funny how I overlooked the above quoted post for almost a week :D )
