Just a couple little questions about the relation between he Feed the Beast subreddit and the forums/official website.
1. Who here actually goes on the FTB subreddit? I do, people post a lot of great builds and ideas there.
2. Is the official website and/or forums in anyway affiliated with the FTB subreddit?

1. I go there occasionally because its where i see most mod devs post latest content plus other bits of info.
2. I believe that the FTB Subreddit is affiliated with the website but I might be wrong

Sometimes I go and read some stuff, but most of the good stuff/comments there get downvoted for no reason/based on opinion and not following the reddiquette.

I'm having to go there (don't usually) since most FTB staff now post on reddit instead of here ......

I can only presume that the staff are not allowed to post freely here, which seems completely stupid.

Can some1 please tell me how is reddit used? i tried to read several in the past, but cant seem to find any sense in it...

I understand it as some sort of forum where you vote and downvote stuff, but seems weirdly organized...

Any help would be appreciated.

This is the same reason I avoid Reddit too, Such a fuster-cluck of... stuff. But as B0bst3r said the only place to watch for the latest FTB news for some reason -.-

Just filter new instead of hot if you want to keep track of latest threads. I ignore the whole voting thing, but the reddiquette rules are just common sense.

I tend to use forums to glean new information, without worrying too much about opinions on said information.

The official answer to your question is no, the Official Feed The Beast Forums and the @FTB_Team Twitter account are the only two authorized media outlets currently in use. Any information posted by FTB Team Members elsewhere is solely their personal opinions and not meant to represent FTB as a whole.

I can only presume that the staff are not allowed to post freely here, which seems completely stupid.
You presume incorrectly, all FTB Team Members are allowed to post their personal opinions and updates on these forums (take for example Wyld's personal updates on the next 1.5.2 mod pack version release). However, they are free to use other outlets in lieu of the forums. We are currently working on streamlining the process currently in place for releasing updates and announcements. Once we have more information an announcement will be made wherein everything will be explained. Progress, whether slowly or quickly, will be efficiently obtained!

I happen to dislike reddit in general for some of the stuff they have pulled over the years, not to say that these ppl are the same guys, but I am kind of like that I black list something its gone for life, & yes its strange that we have seen more info regarding ftb been posted on reddit than on the forums here at times, thank the gods for Cap.

Well you have your work cut out QueWhat cos even Slowpoke posts more information/regularly on reddit than he does here.

That's not to say he doesn't post here, he just posts more regularly on reddit.

I think bobster was refering to what QueWhat said --- The guy in the post above ur first.

However, if ur aware of this, then, sorry, nvm, forget me :p

-- To answer the OP's questions:

1A: Reddit:FTB, Slowpoke/FTB_team's Twitter, and these forums, is where i get my news. There's also that, uhm, FTB_Design, or something like that on reddit, that has some neat builds being posted, once in a while.

Part of that has to be because forums are dowdy, outdated, unwieldily technology.

You find a subreddit (for example feedthebeast), which you can find at reddit.com/r/subredditgoeshere. I recommend you click new if you would like to see new information. There are some pretty cool Reddit plugins for Google Chrome that allow you to hover over photos to quickly view them without leaving the site. If you find a non-photo post you are interested in, you click it. There is an OP (like in the forums) that sparks the conversation. Then, if there are indented replies that means it is a reply to the one directly above it, if it is back all the way on the left hand it is a stand alone post. If this were Reddit, this reply would be indented, due to it being a quote of you. Don't go to /r/spacedicks or /r/gore.

Ah, the beauty of reverse psychology.

What are these spacedicks everyone wonders, why should it be so bad everyone says and does SatanicSanta think he's my dad when telling me what to do? I think not! *click*
