Possible to remove the wood around a node?

If you have an axe of the stream you may be able to just right click the logs until all that's left are the nodes.

Nope, Axe of the stream will eat the "node" wood and destroy the node in the prcoess..

Interesting fact, you can move the Noded wood with a portal gun, but the log must be sitting sideways for it too work, vertical noded wood, is on the blacklist.(This is on 1.6.4 not sure on Thaum 4.1 yet)

in thaumcraft 4.2.3.5 (FTB infinity evolved), i've tested all possible things to do, the only thing that works is the jar.
yes i could set silverwood on fire, although this destroyed the node.
levitational relay simply didn't move the block(obsidian can be moved by this).
wand foci all didn't work, either couldn't replace the block or convert it.
i am not sure what else could possibly work.
