Enchant your armor and make sure you have blast protection on it. It will help with the creeper explosions. Also, if you have tico installed, why aren't you using at least the red heart canisters? Extra life is always good.

Exploring caves is also a vanilla skill. It is a skill that I don't have, but if you watch people who play UHC or the like (BnB series specifically) you will see the meticulous level of care that they put into exploring caves/ravines. Those are strategies which are vanilla-based.

The only reason why I say this, is because it is a skill you develop. I remember when Etho used to get owned by creepers. Now he runs around in his LP without armour and is more confident with his UHC.

If you have such good TiCo tools, you should be able to afford armour that would give you the breathing space to live through a point-blank explosion. I am not sure if RR has IC2, TC4, or even vanilla armour. iirc those all have armours that work well against creepers.

Even with a lagged explosion, that would actually give you more time to get away after the first strike. Also a fully quartz'd TiCo weapon can easily do 20 points of damage (10 hearts).

You best be joking, rr has tc and vanilla.[DOUBLEPOST=1405276647][/DOUBLEPOST]

Those things are expensive.

So many replies... Thank you all :)

Well, I have to admit that when I play Minecraft, vanilla or modded, after mining for a while I get relaxed, and I am not as careful as I could be. But getting blown to pieces and having most of the mod created expensive items disappear isn't nice (while in vanilla valuable meant a few enchanted diamond items easily replaceable). When I saw that my items in which I invested 20 cobalt ingots (very hard to find), over 700 lapis lazuli, 150 nether quartz, 150 redstone, just disappeared because of one small mistake, I didn't feel too good. No matter how careful I am, sometimes these mistakes happen, and the creeper death penalty is way too high in this case. That's why I ask about how I can protect myself through the use of mods.

I guess that the option I will choose for now will be Modular Power Suits, then try to go for Thaumcraft armor, and finally Ocelot genes using Advanced Genetics. Blood Magic seems too foreign for me for now. I will try to understand it later.

So I guess that's the magical alternative to the Ocelot genes with Advanced Genetics... I will look into that, thanks. It seems that I have to study KAMI more carefully.
It makes creepers run from you and shiver.
Fairly expensive, but worth it.

Well by the time you're at kami level chances are you're creeper-safe anyway.

I'm just thinking about mob griefing.

Botania also has a flower that staves off Creepers.

Besides some sort of "better than iron" armor, have an ender chest in the base feeding into your favorite sorting system, carry a matching ender pouch and dump anything you've mined and hate to lose into it.

In addition to keeping you from losing everything if you go lava diving, it's also a handy way of keeping inventory clear while caving.

It also has Mekanism iirc.

Obsidian armour is pretty sexy
Yep. Wearing obsidian head, legs, and feet with a top of the line simply jetpacks jetpack (armored, of course) and I'm basically immune to damage. I'll probably switch for something else eventually...or at least enchant the armor.

BTW, OP, manyullyn is actually a pretty crappy choice for a weapon in RR. Easiest top end damage is refined glowstone, but it has terrible durability (which is why mine is fluxed.) Without a single piece of nether quartz (I haven't really gotten around to nether mining just yet) my cutlass (same damage as a broadsword) one-shots anything except enderman and angry zombies, unless they're wearing armor. Similarly, there are much better choices for tools. Check out extratic in NEI and you can see what's best. Personally I usually start with steel mining tools, then sanguinite, and eventually go for tartarite. Things that don't worry about mining level are platinum, with flux (a platinum shovel, for example, mines dirt so fast it's hard to mine a single block. Put silk touch on it and it's reasonably controllable.)
