or just, you know, do research and find yourself a reputable laptop repair specialist...one not named "geek squad"Just a warning but NEVER bring your laptop somewhere to be fixed. Everyone of my friends that's tried end up with a broken PC ... Waste of money. Just fix any broken things your self

i work in IT, the last thing i want to do when i get off work is open up a laptop. they're tiny, they have tiny screws, and tiny little souls that i would crush. i'd rather pay a guy to get in, get out, and be done with it.
When i say take it someone, I mean don't take it to something like PC World or anything. They tend to break stuffor just, you know, do research and find yourself a reputable laptop repair specialist...one not named "geek squad"

Holy crap. $50 to add ram!? Its easy to do also ...Also, as stated above, stay away from Geek Squad, and extended warranties for that matter. I bought a couple of laptops about 4 years ago at Best Buy, and opted for the 3-year extension on both. A factory warranty from HP at the time was cheaper and guaranteed 24 hour replacement service.
When I had to take one of them in for work after a niece spilled water on it, they just sent it to HP, without replacement, and it took 8 weeks.
Also never trust anyone who charges $50 to add ram to your system. It's easy enough to do yourself if you read and follow directions.
Are you rich?..I bought a couple of laptops
oh believe me i'm not either, i just hate getting inside them. i don't even work on my wife's car, i take that thing in to get fixed.
my car is like my desktop; it costs too much and is too powerful for any mere mortal to fix, so i do them myself.

You upgraded your wife?I don't work on cars because they're dirty and stuff, even though as a teen my dad made me do everything myself to learn how (he's a retired mechanic... We rebuilt the engines in a couple of my first beaters).
That's probably what steered me to radio as a hobby, electronics as a career and then computers when they first became available.[DOUBLEPOST=1396728269][/DOUBLEPOST]
The company I was with at the time had a "Home Technology" employee program at 0% interest so I upgraded the wife and myself.
nice, for me it was motorcycles and cars that drove my initial exploration into electronics.I don't work on cars because they're dirty and stuff, even though as a teen my dad made me do everything myself to learn how (he's a retired mechanic... Wow... Nice, I'm still thinking about looking into electronics, I love it when i was young, And i made a robot a while ago (little robot coded by a friend and built by me,) it's just a ball, We only got it to dance. never finished it... But it was made with a arduinonice, for me it was motorcycles and cars that drove my initial exploration into electronics.
i came from poor means, but i wanted a loud stereo in my car in high school. i built my crossovers and modified an off the shelf amplifier, and a very dangerous capacitor array lol. oh crap, my engine computer's solder points are cracking and causing problems? I can fix that!
i'm working on an arduino project for my motorcycle currently. it's got some crazy features i'd rather not go into because of "" factor, but...bluetooth for a google glass hud displaying fuel/air ratio, rpm, and speed.
Actually it's a matter of preference. My brother likes using a laptop more than a desktop. How would a desktop stop you from playing together?
Ohh right. Okay.Furfur is there a Dell or HP laptop you could suggest?[DOUBLEPOST=1396817360][/DOUBLEPOST]

So any suggestions or do you need more time?Ohh right. Okay.
Wise words. Bolded the really wise words. I was offered to have the "tech guys" at the store I bought my laptop from "activate my copy of windows 8". I was all like "How long would that take you?" and they said "we'd have to keep it overnight but it'd be ready sometime tomorrow". I took it home and had the whole thing set up in under a minute. Yeah, sure, you gonna charge me a bit for it too, guys? Also, as stated above, stay away from Geek Squad, and extended warranties for that matter. A factory warranty from HP at the time was cheaper and guaranteed 24 hour replacement service, but I figured Best Buy was only 15 minutes away...

Ohh sorry. I've been inactive these days I've been gaming too much and only remember to check the forums every nighttime. And by then I'm tired as hell! Anyway. If you have found a PC. Tell me but just a warning, toshibas (not all models) are known to get very hot. My toshiba stays at 80c and overheats at 90c and I'd help look for one if you want. If your getting one and haven't found one yet that is.So any suggestions or do you need more time?
