Hello!
I have a few questions about ores/ore generation
-It seems as though everything spawns in larger groups, as before I would find patches of 4-8 iron, while now I find patches of 8-12, same goes with gold (which im seeing a lot more of)
is it just me?

Also, can someone please tell me at what levels each metal spawns at?
at least for the following:
aluminum (need to find this!)
copper
tin
iron
gold
redstone
lapis
diamond
lead
silver

+any other that you know of

Thank you!

Not entirely sure about the details on a per pack/version basis, but almost all if this data is configurable, and can be found in the COFHCore config.

Basically if you mine about level 40 you will find copper, tin & iron. If you mine about 20 and below you find everything else in your list.
Are you sure about that for aluminum? I know that copper and tin are found between level 40 - 50 (more or less) but i havent found any aluminum
(and i was looking for more specific values, but eh, its a start :) )

I am playing unleashed, with Extra biomes thing mod enabled

I'm assuming you're using Unleashed.

Copper
By default it is configured to generate copper ore at levels 40 to 75 at cluster size of around 7.

Tin
by default is configured to spawn tin at levels 25 to 50 in clusters around 7 in size

Iron
Iron ore is a vanilla item found in layers 1-64
Src: http://ftbwiki.org/Iron_Ore

Gold
Gold Ore is a Vanilla Ore that appeas only in the bottom 32 layers of the map

Redstone
Redstone is most commonly found within 10 blocks from bedrock, and is used in all redstone circuitry
Src: http://ftbwiki.org/Redstone_Ore

Lapis
It is usually found at a depth of 31 and below. The highest concentration of lapis lazuli ore is found between levels 13 and 16. At this level the concentration is about 0.083% of all blocks (0.1013% of stone). The concentration drops linearly as one gets farther from these rows. Overall, lapis lazuli is around 1.1 times as common as diamond ore with an average of 3.43 lapis lazuli per chunk.

Diamond
It is found underground on layers 1-16 as well as in chests in dungeons or abandoned mineshafts.

Lead
Lead Ore can be commonly found at or around y-25.
Src: http://ftbwiki.org/Lead_Ore

Silver
by default, configured to spawn silver ore at levels 15 to 35
Src: http://ftbwiki.org/Silver_Ore

Aluminum
It can be found at level Y=62 or below
Src: http://ftbwiki.org/Aluminum_Ore

Monazit
Monazit Ore was first seen at upper limit Y=76
Src: http://ftbwiki.org/Monazit_Ore

Vis Infused Stone
Infused Stones have been observed appearing at Y=58 and below in a quarry

Ferrous
Ferrous | 20 - 5
Src: http://ftbwiki.org/Ores (You can find a breakdown of all levels and cluster sizes here.

Quartz
It can be found in veins of 1-? in layers 17 to 69
Src: http://ftbwiki.org/Quartz_Crystal_(Ore)

Uranium
Uranium Ore (Block) can be found below layer 64

All of these things can be found with google. Google is your friend.

Because the FTB Team sees Unleashed to be a super easy modpack. And bumped ore spawns to make it the equivalent of a Dense Ore Myst World (or half of one).

Thanks for the information Succubism!
However, im still having trouble finding any aluminum....
I spend some time branch mining in level 45 (used up 3 iron picks)
and found
1 and a half stacks of iron
half a stack of tin
20 copper
but only FIVE aluminum...
I literally have more diamonds than aluminum..
Any help?

Use some type of quarry? I'm playing a SSP ultimate and I've found a few stacks of aluminum. But, I've also run two 64x64 quarry turtles.
Unfortunately, im still VERY early game...
I want the aluminum to make the casts used in the smeltery from Tinkers Construct (i have never used the mod before and therefore want to make my own tools before i end up using lazers and drills anyway)

Love how there's so much information on Lapis, of all ores.

That's because the entry on ftbwiki is copied verbatim from the minecraft wiki. Classy, eh?

For early aluminium I've always had the most luck looking for aluminium gravel on the surface. It seems quite abundant in most biomes.

That is the reason I suggested using a quarry turtle. Very cheap to make. They make excellent early game quarry. The most expensive part is the 3 diamonds you will need for their pickaxe.

If you want to find aluminum try cave diving around level 50, I never have problems finding it.

The other thing you might want to try is just roam around the surface. I find gravel ores of aluminum, copper and iron to be all over the place. Tin and gold appear too, but (based on my totally unscientific general impression) less frequently.

All suggestions considered:
Caves are scary :p
I dont know how to use turtles (I could do some stuff with RP2 computers, but have no idea how turtle programming works)
And what do you need to mine aluminum gravel? Just a pickaxe?
