It's EU charging mechanism is. Whether or not one uses that feature is ultimately irrelevant to whether or not one is using the MPS mod with a conflicting/broken version of the IC2 mod.
One can charge their MPS suit in a Mekanism cube and a TE Energetic Infuser.

Missing the point. One should not include MPS in a pack containing IC2 unless one is very careful to include compatible versions (if available). This is true for anything using/implementing an API still under development. That's all I meant about IC2 dependent mods. Some require it, some require specific versions of it to work together in the same pack.

Also, there are some mods not currently found in FTB packs that do deserve a look
Roguelike Dungeons
Hardcore Ender Expansion
Gany's Surface, Gany's End, Gany's Nether
Mutant Creatures
Falling Meteors
The Farlanders
Father Toast's Special Mobs, Utility Mobs, Deadly World, Natural Absorption
Lycanite's Mobs
Open Blocks

among others of course. Naturally I'm not trying to exclude anyone, but I've been using all these together in my own pack.

Not bad at all! I saw Dire's Open Block spotlight and knew about The Farlanders before. Now I watched the others. Rougelike Dungeons looks like a great mod to start the adventure. Actual, all together this could be a FTB Adventure mod pack, if they get the permission of the mod creators.

I personally do use them all together as part of a hardcore pack. If you have an idea for making a mod pack, you could always put together the mods you want and test it out. 1.6's vanilla launcher makes this very, very easy to do. If you ever get to the point where you wanted to release the pack to the general public, there are a couple ways to go about it.

1. Obtain permissions from all the authors involved. Set configs to your intended settings. Create two versions, one with all the clientside only mods removed (this is the server version) and one with everything (client version). This is generally the process for modpack maintainers regardless of whether they're on the ATLauncher, the FTB Launcher or something else. Maintaining a public modpack can be a difficult and thankless task.

2. Set configs to your intended settings. Compile a list of links to each mod author's download page and specify the version your config pack uses. Users can download each mod themselves and just drop in your configs. This is what you have to do anyway for mod authors that don't give permission. Mostly it's just a matter of ad revenue, but can also be drama/politics. Don't link directly to a mod's file even if the author isn't currently seeking ad revenue.

I agree, the 1.6 launcher makes it easier. Still I run into problems, perhaps because I have a Mac (never got Zan's Minimap running) and because some mods have problems running together. Right now I do not have the time (and nerves) to plod through all the errors to get multiple mods running smoothly.

That is the reason why I really appreciate all the effort of the FTB team putting together multiple mods packs for us to use . I enjoy playing the current FTB mods (and await eagerly the new FTB launcher with the new mod collections) rather then getting lost in bug reports and system crashes. For me FTB is a quality designation: great mods I love to play put together in an effortless fashion (effortless for me as the user, not for the FTB team and of course not for the mod creators).

Mods aren't OS-specific.

I object to this thread existing. It appears to be advertising a new FTB mod pack, but in fact it's just a suggestion to throw a load of mods, some of which do not exist for 1.5.2, together. Please can it at least be re-titled so as not to be misleading?

Agreed. I've edited it.

ahhhh... wrong! the computer display mod is! or computer something mod. it adds a computer to minecraft that you can browse the internet with!

they say they are working on it being compatable with other os's
Yes, 1 mod out of thousands. Also, that's not even very practical, as Minecraft is via computer, which tends to have an internet browser :p
