Nether changes... ridiculous!

That place actually has me scared, just from all the death stories that prop up from even seasoned players. I'm using every trick in the book and then some to stay out of that place. the Agrarian nether that is. vanilla nether. pfft. childsplay. nether ores making pigmen pissed off?, pfft, I just go:
me: "you mad bro?"
pigman:"grouuuul?"
me: "you mad bro?" *smack*
pigman: "squeeeeee"
And harvest them for their teeth.


The reason the agrarian skies nether is so bad, is because of the infernal mobs mod ofc. and that they made everything hate you on sight. fitting considering that with ex nihilo, the nether is not needed for anything at all. you can craft a blaze, then trap it in a safari net and make as many copies of it that you would like. you can do the same with endermen.

well if you want to play the: you are stealing their stuff card. its funny that they dont care about me sucking away all the lava for energy, stripmining huge chunks away with my machines for netherrack, building strange contraptions all over. nope.. all fine with you turning our beautiful home to a huge quarry.. what you took a pickaxe to our minerals?! get her!!!

and yes i understand a lot of it is due to mod restrictions etc.. but.. yeah it doesnt make much sense when you look at it that way does it? that said, tbh I don't care about them getting mad. the time i spend manually mining in the nether is so tiny its like.. whatever. go ahead i got a jetpack.. and stop staring up my skirt when i am mining! pervs!

Same, except I wasn't even wearing armor. On the downside, aside from glowstone and netherrack, all I could find of note was the lava ocean. Oh hey, giant floating crybaby. Shoots fireballs. Big deal, it's massive and easy to avoid. Zombie Pigmen. Never had any issues with 'em, I didn't attack 'em.

Lucky you..... ;) I got one stinking cobalt ore block and no ardite so far, after quite a few death-by-assorted-mod-mobs! Death-by-nether is my biggest death count contributor on our server!

HAHAHA! You had me LOLing hard. Glad I'm not the only one that has that thought when I encounter those.... Seriously though, I wish I had this type of nether trips...

well I dont have tinkerers installed (gregtech for life man!) so ok.. yeah if you got that I guess you have to mine by hand a little bit more. I never really fiddled with tinkerers to know how much you have to mine by hand.

It's not that Nether Ores is stupid, it's just that Nether Ores changing quartz by default is stupid. I mean, it makes sense for ores that yield double the usual and are only found in hell to be dangerous to mine. It doesn't make any sense for something you find everywhere and is used for tons of things to be as dangerous as those, just because it happens to be in hell as well.

as so its pretty efficient then? ok then it shouldnt be too bad. cool. like i said, I prefer to have greg in and since he and tinks dont like eachother.. but I digress.. again.. I do that a lot today.

So a mod being internally consistent with the vanilla game is stupid?

NO has always been focused on risk/reward mining (as exemplified by everything in the mod), so yeah, making nether quartz explode and call pigs just because it happens to be a nether ore is indeed stupid. It's basically the same thing as making all overworld ores give some sort of effect just because why not -- they don't have any advantages over something else in order to justify the added danger.

At least this can be easily turned off in the config, unless you play on a server.
