I was wondering at what level I can find quartz crystals from AE. I have dug around at level 39 in new chunks and can't find any. Help would be appreciated!:D

I hate to ask the obvious, but you're sure you're in new chunks? I ask because there are just about everywhere for me.

Yes, I am sure. I went at least 20 chunks away from where I have explored. Is y level 39 the best level, or is there some other y level I should look at?

Maybe try higher? The web-site says "above diamond, below sea level". Sorry I'm not much help.

I started a new world for DW20 5.2.1 and I found one ore rather easily. They are small veins but keep searching. Caves seem like one of the best bets.

Arcane/tunnel bore at level 20-30

Arcane is your best bet since you can fortune/silk touch. Fortune gives from 1 dust up to 20 after grinding down the crystals. Silk touch gives a constant 10.

You actually generate a decent amount of chunks around yourself. It can be hard to gauge when you are really in "new terrain" sometimes. Try making a mystcraft age and see if you find quartz there.

What abut a quarry? I am only one diamond away.
A quarry is so-so. You'd waste more of the ore without fortune or silk touch(because you're going to need LOADS) but quarrying over an ocean will probably net you a good amount.

I don't have the resources to make a fortune pick yet. This ia a fairly new world. Would a frame machiene be a better choice?
