I get this crash every time I look up MPS recipes, and the recipes for some other mods. I have all recipes disabled apart from vanilla. I have the vanilla recipes file downloaded and in config/machine muse/recipes.

Hey, I'm using FTB Monster pack (v1.0.9) which contains ModularPowersuits-1.6.2-0.9.0-84, and the Radiation Protection module isn't showing up in the Tinker Table for any piece of armor even though it says its enabled in config file...

Hey, I'm using FTB Monster pack (v1.0.9) which contains ModularPowersuits-1.6.2-0.9.0-84, and the Radiation Protection module isn't showing up in the Tinker Table for any piece of armor even though it says its enabled in config file...
Radiation protection is only for Atomic Science, is that in Monster?

No it isn't, but I thought Atomic Science and IC2 both use the same radiation system, and considering the config for MPS in the Monster pack has the entry B:"Radiation Shielding"=true even though the Monster pack doesn't have Atomic Science, it's not an unreasonable assumption that the module should work for IC2 radiation....

If it doesn't currently, then definitely it should anyway!

FTB use a universal config system, that's why its enabled in the config even if the modpack you use doesn't have Atomic Science, I think one of the other pack does have it, since they all use the same config files, it needs to be enabled. And I seriously don't think a Radiation suit is needed for IC2 Nuclear Reactors, unless you really are planning on making it explode...

The new IC2 nuclear system makes you take radiation damage from processed uranium in your inventory unless you have a full radiation suit on.

Oh, that's good to know, I have plans for a nuclear reactor mystcraft age in the near futur so I better create myself a hazmat suit if I can't integrate it into my MPS armor...

For some reason, if I try to download the 1.6.4 Modular Power Suits from the mod's website, the download link doesn't work... can I have a alternate link or something?

Wait till Machinemuse fix them, she usually does it quickly, do not trust any other download links from various websites you can find via google some are really nice but many are filled up with virus and other, even some links that you have to pay to download or fill up a survey, never ever trust theses, its 100% sure a virus or malware/spyware (I'm a computer tech with nearly 20 yrs of experience), you can always take it from a lot of FTB packs which can be trusted enough...

Whenever I put anything on from that mod it kills me and in the console it says [INFO] death.attack.Overheat. It happened to only me at first but now it's happening to my friend too. It doesn't matter which part helmet/power tool/legs/etc. I even tried equipping it in a river and I was still burning. I looked at the pack and noticed that ModularPowersuits-1.6.2-0.9.0-84 never got updated in the new version of Direwolf20. Anyone else experiencing this?

Direwolf20 1.0.17

Whenever I put anything on from that mod it kills me and in the console it says [INFO] death.attack.Overheat. It happened to only me at first but now it's happening to my friend too. It doesn't matter which part helmet/power tool/legs/etc. I even tried equipping it in a river and I was still burning. I looked at the pack and noticed that ModularPowersuits-1.6.2-0.9.0-84 never got updated in the new version of Direwolf20. Anyone else experiencing this?

I experienced the same problem once, not sure what happens there but it needs fixing, I had to get rid of my custom awesome suit and had to remake a bunch of the modules that I couldn't get back by salvage on the tinkers table, even without any modules on the armor, if I held a piece of it in my hotbar, I was insta killed even underwater or in a taiga biome full of snow...

It's not insta-kill but it's close to that taking about 4 hearts at a time away. If the powertool was in our hotbars and either of us clicked it then we'd would burn like you said. It happened to me randomly then I gave it to my friend and he didn't burn. About 5 or so minutes later his suit killed him too. Now we both can't wear them. I'm going to try reverting just this mod back to whatever version was in Direwolf 1.0.16.

Don't think it will fix it cause I'm actually still in 1.0.14 and it happened with that version, you may want to take a look at the official MPS downloads, I know there's a new version there, I plan on updating it manually on my server and client today while I do the update to the 1.0.17 edition...

Edit : after looking at the recent changelog, I don't see anything regarding a fix for this issue

Don't think it will fix it cause I'm actually still in 1.0.14 and it happened with that version, you may want to take a look at the official MPS downloads, I know there's a new version there, I plan on updating it manually on my server and client today while I do the update to the 1.0.17 edition...

Thanks for the quick replies. I'll try updating our server and see if the problem persists afterwards. Did you mention that remaking the power suit and throwing out the old one makes it not kill/burn you? My theory on why he started dying is because I infected him by him trying on my power helmet. He didn't die like me at first...that's my theory on why he started dying. This bug sucks..lol

Yes I've recreated my powersuit from scratch and so far, no problems to be found, except once my brother was on fire but he was near a water source and had no problems after, but still, his suit wasn't supposed to overheat, we both have the heat thing in the chestplate at on all the time. Maybe its the MPS addons that could be the problem here, not sure if you have any of the addons on your suit but I had a bunch of them when it happened, maybe it has a new update, will have to dig that down to see...

Edit: No luck the latest MPS addons was released 26 days ago at same time as MPS v84 that is in the DW20 1.6.4 pack at the moment, so if its the problem, its not fixed yet...

I was about to trash them and make new ones but you mentioned cooling. I boosted the heat sink to maximum on all of them and put them on/equipped them. I didn't burn so I put them back to what they were beforehand so I wouldn't be slowed down to the speed of a turtle. I don't seem to have the burning problem anymore. The problem seems to be related to the heat sink system. This is a better temporary fix so that you don't have to trash the bugged suits if it were to happen again.

You are correct. It has to do with burning. Modular Powersuits has a cooling and burning system where if you exceed a certain temp (I believe 50 C) then you begin to burn up. You begin to accumulate to heat if you step in lava, or touch various "hot" objects. It takes a very, very long time to cool down, but with the cooling upgrade, you cool down very quickly. The heat sink also helps by soaking up more heat.

I'm 100% sure its a bug, I seriously hope it will be fixed, my brother just had the burning suit bug and he didn't have any heat sink on his suit only the heat thing in the chestplate, we didn't do anything different so not sure why it does happen now, for me I think it happened at the end of january, can't remember the exact moment but it was shortly after MPS addons was added to the DW20 pack...
