Ive said it before. Biomes O plenty. Especially in 1.7.2. And Highlands which I always preferred also seems to have major issues nowadays too.

Unintentional necromancer signing out.

A lot of biome mods seem to love to just eat up my cpu :/ The only one that doesn't seems to be ExtrabiomesXL :p OpenBlocks Tanks are also lag inducing. They're so laggy that I usually disable them entirely. Mo Creatures is also really laggy. Especially in huge packs. Reika's mod also recently been having a toll on my computer, though that's not entirely Reika's fault, that's more or less my computer's :p
filled open blocks tanks... trust me... if your rig isnt powerful enough your better of chaining nukes to destroy your map

Open Blocks tanks eat framerate so isn't too deadly, Applied Energistics on the other hand now that eats servers for breakfast... There is something deeply broken in AE auto-crafting, if there's a crafting card requesting something that can't be made(missing ingredient) then your server will be driven to it's knees. There's something else broken as well, as soon as I turn my AE system on I get "can't keep up errors", off and they disappear, I just STILL can't find it.

I don't know what they are, but the most laggy mods are the ones that on the Direwolf20 1.3.1 server I play on, that keep my whole @#$()$ing base chunkloaded.

Every time I log off my IC2 nuke, and big reactors continue consuming fuel until / unless the server restarts. I am OC about building things in their own chunks, so its not even like there are other mod blocks in those chunks keeping them alive, and the fact that the AE2 system (in other chunks) is drawing power should not cause the reactors to stay loaded even if it was leaking.

This is getting quite annoying and has eaten stacks of fuel - i'm just feeling fortunate that I didn't automate refueling fully or I'd be totally out of power. (As it is my local nether pump has paved the entire vicinity in the nether supplying 'idle draw' power while ive been offline so lava is no longer even the backup option (I know lava is lame so my personal rule is to treat it as a limited resource - only build one pump and never move it).)

1. Install Gregtech and Mekanism
2. Scroll through the Mekanism creative tab
You might even crash from this.

also gregtech can double or triple your load time depending on the amount of mods you have
