I love the interest in this thread! I'll just point out that you don't want too many crafting heavy mods in a pack like this. To me, it's gonna get frustrating to find people to murder if everyone is in a hole grinding a tech tree.

Also vanilla UHC has a great balance. You don't want too many over the top projectile mods because no one will have a Q-suit.

But I'm loving this. I log back onto the forums from my phone and tapatalk says I'm pages behind in the conversation. I'll have to go back read through what I've missed. This will be fun uploadfromtaptalk1388978241566.jpg

A lot of interesting stuff has been said I guess. Now balance. Should the configs be hard, easy or default? To speed the game along should we give them a couple materials such as ores, sand, clay, etc? Should we add VSWE's hardcore mod? Maybe multiple live could be beneficial?

I'll say only one life. Instead of grinding each tech or one tech tree we could give them items for example thaumcraft that unlocks some research, by using the item. For example this happens: one finds a dungeon and a loot which contains an item called thaumcraft thaumic sword research, he right clicks it in his hand and he has the research unlocked. Someone else finds another dungeon with a few ars megica level orbs and stuff, but not all the required stuff, to make a spell. Over the surface of the overworld are ars magica nexus, mana batteries, thaumcraft infusion altars, TiC forges and other structures (which are hard to build) scatterd. In dungeon chests are jars with aspects and (half or partly) filled IC2 batteries/ those things where redstone flux goes in.[DOUBLEPOST=1389007868][/DOUBLEPOST]we also couold give them a esearch of about 5 things or so free at the start

No cheat sheets, no cheated in stuff. Thaumcraft adds mobs and you can get dungeon loot. They don't get 15 bookshelves and access to and endermen farm in vanilla uhc

fair enough
but we can add completed research in dungeon loot[DOUBLEPOST=1389030427][/DOUBLEPOST]otherwise it will take to long. And it this won't be excactly the same as vanilla UHC (and i mean the mindcrack thingy)

How much research can we put in dungeon loot? And won't they need to follow the Thaumcraft tech-tree?

I am not quite sure sure if you MUST follow the tech tree, maybe it can be changend in the configs... if i find time tommorow after school (for me that is in about 16 hours) i'll test it. Does anyone know how we can best inform the gaiming comunity when it is ready to go? Or am i getting ahead of stuff way to hard?[DOUBLEPOST=1389046299][/DOUBLEPOST]

Sorry to not pull through, but I can't complete it tonight. Only have 10 or so left so it'll be complete tomorrow. Sorry. :(
today or tomorrow (wait, where? =P) doesn't really matter, i mean. i less than a week from a idea i posted to this is quite amazing (for what i am used). To be honeset this is what i expected: If somethings gonna happen with this idea, it will take at least a week before it comes out of it's first stage (the drawing table) ... And it got there after 3 days.[DOUBLEPOST=1389133946][/DOUBLEPOST]well, good night (in the netherlands) :)
