Hey guys!
Is there a way to insert and extract items into the lower slot of the MFSU.

I am building an EU farm, but it is in the old area of where I started of playing. Currently, I have the farm emptying the EU from an MFSU into a Lapotron Crystal, which would then be sent into an Ender Chest. This all works, so back to the issue.

Ok, so the Lapotron Crystal then gets sent from the second ender chest to an MFSU, in the bottom side. The EU would be transferred. Now, how can I extract the Lapotron Crystal from the MFSU, if the bottom side is used up by the ender chest?

Thanks!

No I mean, the items from the chest (laptron crystal) is extracted, then sent into the MFSU, to be discharged, but then, the only way to discharge it is on the bottom side. After it discharges, i want to remove the crystal for the next cycle

Look at the attached file.

As you can see, the enderchest that is sending, is occupying the bottom side.

And looking at that video, it's charging the crystals. I already had that ready, it's just the matter of DISCHARGING :(

What do you mean? That means i need to unhook it and rewire it, i want it to be automatic[DOUBLEPOST=1365236172][/DOUBLEPOST]Or if there is a 2way filter

Use a retriever, I've not checked but the mfsu probably requires the crystal to go in and out of the same (bottom) side. The attached picture is essentially what you want to be doing, but in this case I am sending/retrieving blulectricity batteries to a battery box. 1 retriever (left - send) has a full battery and the other one (right - retrieve) has an empty. You should only need 1 ender chest at each end of your system.

Edit: Ninja'd! What Ako said.

Since you have to use the same side, I think if you use a filter to pull a full one from the Ender Chest, send it down a pneumatic tube into the bottom of the MFSU, and have a retreiver on the same tube to pull the empty one, that'll work.

Similar to what DW20 did with bluetricity batteries with his SMP season 3 episode 87 tunnel bore.

You can also use factorization routers to pull from the bottom even if the bottom is already in use/blocked. Routers have to be touching the machine or a machine/inventory connected to your target machine.

Couple other blocks can access a specific side of the inventory without have access to the side:
Advanced Translocator (gregtech)
Turtle Misc Peripherals Inventory Upgrade

I changed it and it looks pretty much the same. You will need a bit of blulectricity for the retrievers, 1 solar panel and a battery box is probably enough. I put this together in episode 8 or 9 of my let's play if you wanted to see a video of it being put together.

And yeah routers might be an option, would need an item filter upgrade and I can never remember if they work on insert or extract, don't think they work on both, would need to be on extract and set to an empty crystal.

I'm just set something up that I thought will work but unfortunately the router item filter upgrade doesn't see the difference between a charged and uncharged crystal. For putting full crystals in I made an emerald transport pipe set to only pull full crystals. Disabling the router with a redstone singnal would work but you'd want to make sure the crystal in the mfsu is fully discharged before killing the redstone signal.

So a redstone signal will stop the router?[DOUBLEPOST=1365240325][/DOUBLEPOST]In that case, I can set the mfs to emit when full? And attach the mfs to a NOT gate, which the NOT gate would connect to the router.
