I don't know if anyone has a process like this. If you want something more unique you could consider fluid extraction. (Think fracking for extracting natural gas... only for ores.)

- Create (and store) the extraction fluid.
- "Pump" the fluid into the ground. (I don't think there would need to be any visual effect of "pressurized stone" in the environment. But you can if you want I guess.)
- Convert Ore blocks to stone block (removing the ore).
- Output "used" extraction fluid into a second holding tank.
- Run "recovered" fluid through a process to separate ore from extraction fluid.
- Now you have the ores, the extraction fluid for another run, and no landscape damage.
