Looking for a New Dedicated Server Host

The server I currently play on is looking for a new dedicated host. We are currently using creeper hosting however due to over 50 hours of downtime over the last week because of a faulty server we are seeking a new provider. Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on what you want really. Keep in mind FTB servers use an exorbitant amount of CPU and RAM if not configured properly.

I, personally, don't like buying servers made especially for Minecraft/FTB. That's not to say they aren't good, but it's usually a better deal to set up your own server if you know how.

I, personally, use hetzner.de, only because I live in Germany, but I've never had a problem with them. I even my RAID setup fail and I was back online within ~4 hours. They even took a nice little percentage off my bill because the server was down due to no fault of my own.
 
Hetzner or OVH is about the cheapest you will find. If you go with either one of these and use linux which is almost a must for any version of MC, you will need to know how to setup a linux server through SSH console, install your own FTP, Java, and whatever other tools you need. That is one of the reasons why they are some of the cheapest dedicated servers around.

Do a lot of searching around, many so called "dedicated server" hosts are actually a middle man selling you a server from another companies data center. Make sure the place you are going through actually owns there server.
 
I confer, getting your own is much better, we had the same issues with 2 'minecraft hosting' companies who couldnt keep the servers up, utterly useless and endless excuses. Since we moved to Hetzner on our own machine, we have had zero issues.
The problem with going through hosting companies is they get machines that have huge amounts of RAM (64GIG+) and then sell based on RAM, you could end up on a machine that has 32 or more servers all hammering the CPU, not to mention all the network issues.

There are a few Intel i7's with 12Gig RAM for 40 Euros currently. We have had zero issues since we moved, server is rock solid.
 
As gaming servers usually are very resource intensive (even when set up properly) a dedicated server hosting solution is probably your best bet. The main aspects to consider when looking for a new host include the hardware they offer (ram/cpu), their link speed, the amount of bandwidth offered, where they are located (for latency), and of course, how they fit into your budget. While it is very difficult to gauge reliability without first having been a customer, searching the internet for reviews is a potential way to discover any reputation issues your potential host may have. While one site with one review may not be very informative, cross referencing multiple reviews over multiple review sites should be reasonably accurate.

I am actually the owner of the server and we in the end went with Astral Game servers, been suprisingly good, I did very much consider going with hetzner but I at the time had no experience with ssh coding, so went with a company that I could ask questions to if I couldn't figure it out myself through the internet. I will most likely move to hetzner in the future, but thankyou all for your advice, it was very helpful :)
