I made a few Botania rods (specifically for the free dirt) and that includes that one vertical flight rod so I figured I would use the glider with it but I can't get the glider to glide fast...? Is there a smart moving issue or something because I turned that off.

Heya all.
After quiet a long break from minecraft I started again (actually had to restart since my old map didn't load anymore ^^)
Now I tried to recreate my alumite-blue'slime-crossbow... but for some reason I can hardly make any parts out of blue slime crystals anymore.
Was there a change in tinker's construct about using slime for the bows/crossbows (tried using it in the part-builder and tried to smelt it. Smelting doesn't work). Or was it disabled in the modpack because they got too fast with slime-weapon-parts?

Really confused about this, since in the 1.2.6 map I build one without problem.

Also I am looking to construct a Nether mob grinder so I will have plenty of lava on hand.

Heya all.
After quiet a long break from minecraft I started again (actually had to restart since my old map didn't load anymore ^^)
Now I tried to recreate my alumite-blue'slime-crossbow... but for some reason I can hardly make any parts out of blue slime crystals anymore.

I think it is a change in the modpack, not allowing slime for bows or something.

So I just made the Jetpack that says it's from the 4Space Venus mod, but I have no idea how to use it. I've been googling it for a while and cannot find a single site that says how to use it. If someone could explain, that would be great :)

So I finally had the ability to mine spires, but I cannot seem to find any aluminum or lapis in any of the spires. At what level do they spawn, if any. Also, I see ghast and rocket creeper spawners in some spires? Are those something to worry about? Because I haven't seen one spawn.

Slime crystals? I made a green slime tool rod for my pick...

It seems only the tool-rod and tool-binding works with all materials. Looking at the higher-tier-tools (which needs the "tough tool rod" and the parts which takes many ressources) alot seems disabled.
Besides Slime it seems Paper-tool-parts are disabled too... sadly :/

I found a huge spire which seems to be symmetrical and cone like of hardened clay and have some kinda orangey thing on top (fire?) Is this a volcano? And is it worth exploring? I mean...lava + hardcore mode doesnt seem like a good comparison...
yes. build a mekinisum pump and drain the lava. this is what at the bottom... Plus there will be 2 jugurnut blaze spawners and an XP ore berry bush. and if your quick enough there are block placers and breaker at the top that start the fire. you got to get them before they despawn. you will find a volcanoe about 600 to 200 blocks from this one and so on.

Holy crap. Ummm you realize I just got my iron supplies and my alumite pick...right? What should I prepare for when I take down this volcano?

Alright, so Ive finalized my build plans to be a 50*50 perimeter with 2 block ditches to keep the mobs away. Im going to build everything vertically from my bunker, save for a farm and botania, since those usually cannot fit in a 10*10 space. Im also going to have my lake n' stuff outside and a few sniper towers about 10 blocks high. my bed and sync stuff (once I get it) will be centralized underground where the initial spawn is, as well as storage chests. Does that sound good to you guys? As advanced players, can you see any shortfalls in my plan? ie: meteor radius/weather shield (which ill move up), mobs that can pass a 2*2 ditch if they are aggroed on you, etc.

i found my first one, 1000 blocks diretly east. x:-59 Z:1603. i play with the 1.2.6 map just updated to 1.3.3, so i dont know if the location will be the same.

Edit: and if you just want lava, the bottom of the world is one big lava lake
Woah scratch that I found one! It was directly next to a haunted town so I never checked it out but then I was in need of gold so I went from spire to spire looking for gold when I noticed this weird spire had no ores...!!!

I didnt build ditches, but a 2 block high wall, the mobs aggro less on you when they cant see you ;). Snipertowers are useless imo, just keep the outside mobs outside and build a mobfarm of some sorts for the mobdrops and XP (free XP is really usefull later on) The rest sounds good. Maybe you can make a special drone platform like i did. For extra fun i added compact machines mod. Really fun and doesnt change the difficulty of blastoff.

EDIT:
1. Spiders can probably jump over the ditch and the rocket creepers can just jump out, same for the jumpyshoe mobs. Thats why i use a wall: no aggro except for zombies.
2. Botania easily fits in 10x10 if you want. Just dont use the daybloom or something like that. Instead use stevescarts to make a charcoalblock farm (i can tell you how if you dont know how) and use a crate-system to drop the charcoal on endoflames. You can also use cobblegen + crucibles and floodgate to automate the thermalilies.

lol what I did was build a massive, multi-story castle and keep everything I need inside it.
If I do need to go outside for any reason though the room with the villagers tends to attract all of the zombies and skeletons so I just kill them or walk around them.

the main thing is the jugarnut blazes spawner on the out side and the two blaze spawners at the bottom when you drain the lava

Nice modpack. It really pushed me out of my comfort zone.

However I have a problem with the ore gen in 4space. It seems that no uranium ore generates on Venus (I have checked this with the digital miner, and it finds all ores that are not uranium). This makes me unable to complete the last of the Venus quests. Are there any special conditions required to get uranium?

By the way, is there anyone that has been able to complete the IO quests. If there is, where do I find basalt?
