My mob farm is going to put the zombie flesh into barrels for dirt. I have my sorting system set up already, just have to get it hooked up to my mob farm
if your concerned about dirt then your first priority after surviving should be to make an elevator and go to the cave world theres dirt for miles
Oh yeah going to the cave world is totally worth it. the only thing is all the silverfish. But if you have a magnum torch it negates that problem.
What is this cave world of which you speak? And what elevator would get you there?

Well to answer your question the cave world is another world added in by enviromine. The elevator is a two piece structure that can be crafted. just look up elevator on NEI you can find the recipes there. both of them are a little expensive but it is totally worth it. Basically what you do is craft the top and bottom piece. Then you place the bottom piece on bedrock and then place the top piece on top of that. then you just click on it. Keep in mind the cave world is very hostile and you will not last long if you are not well equipped. I hope this helped, and good luck.

now i don't know if i got lucky or what but when i went to the cave dimension all i ran into was about 6 creepers where i spawned. i killed them lit up the immediate area and i've been pumping the lakes dry for my water and harvesting all the dirt i can. there are other mobs there but as long as you light up the area your gonna be in they won't bother you and in reference to the silverfish, I havn't seen a single one but i also haven't mined anything in the cave world besides grass. Notice the minimap in my screenshot no mobs in the immediate area
yeah it isn't that bad if you light up the areas, I was just warning them to be prepared. What I did was craft a magnum torch then I ran in and placed then immediately left and when I went back in later I didn't have to deal with any mobs>. And I have traveler's goggles with night vision on them so that I don't need light.
so i was recording on youtube, got the quest turned in for the item that makes a duplicate of your guy incase you die, had pigs running, got guy created, ended up dying later and it wouldn't let me respawn. why put this in game if you can't access it? any ideas.
Yeah, known bug (reported several times in the thread here) - there is a config change that needs to be made, and will be made in 1.1.14, which is awaiting deployment.
Enchiridion has an issue, according to Tech support, so i recomend not using those books for the time being ( The author of those books is currently on a Hiatus)
If too many people use it, ill disable the recipe by default
My game crashed when I read the book you get when crafting a reed rod. I was able to play again, but since I didn't know the cause, I eventually tried to read it again, and crashed, but this time my level.dat was deleted. I saw on reddit someone having the same issue. The problem is that even disabling the recipe won't work because you get the book automatically when crafting the reed rod (like you get the tinkers books when crafting some specific items). BTW, the rod you get as the quest reward wont work (that's the reason I crafted the reed rod).
The book thing might be a mod side issue according to someone... Will fix the rod in 1.1.15 :3

i actually stumbled on it when i was going to make elevators for going up and down a rouge like dungeon i saw elevator from eviromine checked the wiki as to what it did and just made it

I did some testing, and I could not reproduce the issue of the level.dat being deleted. But a way to recover from that with minor losses is to copy the level.dat from a backup, or from a fresh new world. The only thing that seems to affect is the player inventory (it'll get reset from the backup point). I cheated some items I knew i had, so, that was no big deal.
