hey, in my sp world i started messing around with some thaumcraft and suddenly lightning comes down from the sky, hurts me and burns my stuff, what is it?

It's lightning .......

Too much magic and you damage the flux stability and all sorts of nice things happen like lightning and wisps trying to kick yer ass. Research and make a pair of goggles of the revealing so you can keep an eye on it.

right, but i just started thaumcraft, i havent even done a research yet, so i guess i put my base in a really bad spot.
i cant progress in thaumcraft while lightning is kicking my ass (im also in hardcore so ye) so the best thing i can do is go around and search for a blue tree?

whisps started appearing too now so i guess im screwed..
If I should make an educated guess - I'd ask: Do you happen to have a Thaumcraft Burrows Dungeon in your neighborhood?
Explanation: A burrows dungeon always is inhabited by a dark/evil/twisted/whateveritscalled node which causes flux to go wild in the area around it - two of those effects are random lightning strikes and the sudden appearance of whisps.

i dont have a thaumcraft dungeon near me, but now i crafted the goggles to see where the flux is, ill just go around w my sickle and get some silverwood saplings :P

turns out it was a bee doing that.. (excited bee) lmao. im so fucking retarded xD
and btw i guess... excited bee + lightning rod = free energy?

Before you go and throw your resources literally out of the virtual window: No, the lightning strikes caused by bees do not work with the lightning rod. The rod won't even notice them.

ah thanks, didnt have nearly enough materials to make a lightning rod anyway
