I like Abyssal, but I prefer it's block form, instead of the basic. I use Basalt for a smooth black instead.

BINGO! I found a structure with thousands of them and raided it, the blocks are incredibly easy to break

OH, quick note though, they are like glass blocks, you can't put torches and stuff on them

But anyway I made this castle thinking that other people would also make a home but everyone ended up living with me and my house became a community magic area

Um, no. I crafted a full ichorium set on that altar, with no instability. I just hid all the stabilizing elements underneath the altar, where they wouldn't spoil the view.
