You NEED to hook that lazer array up fully and show it working, would be amazing to see so many lasers all fire at the same time!
Never even knew what the max size was (how many lasers on each wall?)
Here's my WIP, not-quite-a-base-yet, mad-scientist-lair-to-be project. It's basically a base in a volcano, but with a twist.
I'm awestruck by some of the bases in this thread, and I'm nowhere near those levels. But I wanted to do something a little different, and interesting (to me anyway... also may be considered hare-brained...), and combine some ideas. I want to try the all-in-one-chunk base idea (see Twisto's awesome base earlier in this thread). I also always wanted to see how the RP2 volcanoes are put together, but I've never really had a chance to take one apart, so to speak, till now.
The setup:
I'm located in a large meadow, right next to a village (unimaginatively dubbed "Volcanotown") which I've walled off - for the safety of the villagers of course... of course. Also right next to a very tall (120+) volcano. I've got a very blocky, boring base with lots of machinery set up already, that's where the work gets done and materials get processed.
Now speaking of "taking apart" the volcano, this brings me to one of my self-imposed "rules" for this construction project. I want to preserve the natural state of the volcano as much as possible, so to that end, I'm not allowed to destroy any lava source blocks, unless really absolutely necessary. So instead of just burrowing into it, I'm taking a cross-section of the main lava shaft, starting from the top, and encasing the lava shaft in glass.
[
The view from the top all the way to bedrock.
Near the bottom, I had a small... accident and got covered in lava. Had to save myself with a bucket of water, which sadly, took out some of the natural lava, but that's ok.
And finally, here we are at the basement. I've laid a foundation of marble bricks on the bedrock, and then there's a second floor made of glass viewer. At the 2nd floor height, I encountered a little river of lava which cuts right through the room... bit of a problem. I'm going to keep the lava blocks with are above head height, and it makes a nice lava chandelier, I find.
So an obvious advantage with all this lava is of course, good lighting.
One clear disadvantage is that... well, if a creeper wanders in here... it's going to be a very, very sad day.
Maybe I should use reinforced or hardened glass... are those creeper proof? One of those is also impossible to remove once set down though, isn't it? And it's not as pretty as the Xycraft glass viewers, which I really like.
Any suggestions?

That was hilarious. (Although, I watched generikb's version) It's also why I said "just about." If you want real funny try watching Anderzel trying to remove a warded glass prank from Etho and generikb.

It's actually a design I grabbed from someone else on these forums. The maximum size you can have is 10x10, with one of those overlapping with the other side, so the cube itself has sides of 11, and then fill in the top and bottom. If you didn't have a door it's something like 603 lasers.
Problem with taking a screenshot of it while it's running is that you have to put 4 stacks of something in or it's done too quickly We made a diamond gate in 4 seconds, just at the stage that it's at now.

Hah yea it was funny
However if u put the warded glass in a quarry, (as in where it removes stuff) the quarry will destroy the glass, which is what i was screaming at Anderz to do in his stream
