If only I had a base to show.
Here's my current (a couple of weeks in the evenings) base in Age of Engineering.
Using Laboratory blocks as I like the look, given that I am focusing heavily on getting IC2 built out before moving beyond Age-4.
Automated farm for Biogas generation. Wheat farm with crop sticks in a 11 x 11 x 3 arrangement.
Power building and internals.
Wheat is macerated into BioChaff, a fluid canning machine in 'enrich' mode with an infinite water source converts it all into BioMass.
Pipe goes to Fermenter, biogas is used to power a semifluid generator which is slowly charging an MFE, nearby is the solid fuel heat generator which is needed to 'boot up' the stack with Coal. So far the system is very slowly charging up the MFE.
One thing I've noted though, tapping into the biogas to power the heater and also charge the MFE seems to result in a net loss of biogas from the heater, which could eventually lead to stalling of the stack... Not sure if I need to keep the solid fuel going until the MFE is fully charged first and allow whole system to 'back up' with biogas first.
I suspect I might need more than one fermenter and use coal to boot everything up... or build a huge tank of biogas.
Any ideas appreciated!
I've not got any useful ideas unfortunately Wuffle, but I did want to say I think your base is looking nice so far! Clean lines, and I like the look of the stained glass and fan blocks that you've used!
I'm expanding it soon.
I've compiled a choice selection of all the builds from this thread into this album: https://imgur.com/gallery/pXB1y
Here is my base on a custom mod pack based on FTB Revelations. There were a lot of ideas "borrowed" from this thread, so I wanted to share.

Very nice work! I really like what you’ve done there
Interesting, I was informed the 2x2 trees didn't work. Guess that was wrong.
They work great. I went searching to find them very early game and was rewarded well.
It's been a really long time since I've posted here, but the following image is a part of my base. I'm really just posting here to test the posting of images on the forums. I think I'll probably start a thread on it soon. Over the past 6 months, I've essentially built a city:
Edit: Ah, it appears to work correctly.
A bit of a look round my latest world.
I spawned in a gigantic forest, which is normally awesome for a quick start, but Dynamic Trees makes life tricky as the forest grows back.
As land clearance is a bit more high effort, I decided to go live underground.

That nether brick structure used to house some basic solar panels, but i've since repurposed it as my apiary. Still WIP, I've only just started with bees tbh.
Inside, ACME wall of machines. Purty.
Through the door on the right of that, there's the back room containing a proto-Colin. It has batteries and the beginnings of Noodly Appendages, but Colin's core is my next big project.
And of course, the beating heart of everything. Still needs a few more levels, but i'm waiting on my massive quarries to provide more draconium just now.

Still midgame, many things still to do etc etc
Update on the above:
Marvel at his colour co-ordinated noodly appendages.
Also, moving large stacks of items into Quantum Storage
Elevator system now runs surface to bedrock
Extra noodly appendages, Colincraft begins.
Automatic farms set up, expanding as I breed more plants with Agricraft. Roof needs tidying but i'll do that later
Brewing a little beer, base-building is thirsty work :3
The latest addition to my machine collection. unfortunately I ran out of space on the machine wall so it's all by itself, looking lonely
Aaaand my little note-to-self. Remains to be seen if one can stick to the plan and not go off on another tangent XD
Apologies for the image quality utter lack of images. The base has undergone some further changes since these were taken, but I thought I'd show you what I've done so far.
Spoiler: Base outside
Spoiler: This DEFINITELY looks better now
Other bit I haven't decided what to do with yet:
Spoiler: Maybe a teleportation hub...
Huh, weird to see 1.7.10 again after not playing it for ages
Its a relatively new 1.7.10 pack, too - I'm really enjoying it. I've not been able to do a lot of 1.10+ stuff as my computer seems to really chug. My old one couldn't run anything past 1.7.10 at all, and wouldn't have been able to play this. Everything I watch is 1.12 these days, so its definitely a little odd.
I'd have a 1.7.10 series going, but filling 27 minecarts with track takes quite a while and lags like a mofo using Logistics Pipes.
It's a real common issue with the latest versions of Minecraft, but then every Minecraft update has been more demanding than the previous version. Wish they would do an update that doesn't focus on content but on performance.
And make people stop buying more powerful computers? Ha.
Honestly being forced to use less mods, due to ram concerns, I enjoy it more than using 20 mods that do the same thing. It makes the game less overwhelming. I saw Reika's stuff updated recently. I might make a 1.7.10 world going when my server goes down.
