If that is the case then I have no idea why nothing has come out of the portal. Unless they want to surprise us but how would they know when we are attacking? And even if they know the portal is small and thus you can't simply get a whole army though it.
My guess is that they are leaving this world and I hope for good.

Then that other world is in danger.
I think we need to act fast.
If they are asking for help they might get it too late
If they are invading the other world the less shadows that can go though it the better.

But fewer shadows leaving the portal means more shadows in our world. And we are probably very outnumbered against the shadows. I don't think attacking the shadows head on would be the smartest idea.
