Windows .exe Launcher not working as it should

I've not been able to playing ftb since I installed my new anti virus program.
I think it is it causing the problem. The problem: when I launch the launcher it takes around 5mins for it to load in and after that when I try to launch an modpack it tells me this "IOException, minecraft servers might be down."

• The Java Update?
• FTB after the update?

You answered your own problem in your first line. Did your av install a firewall also? If so, be sure both the ftb launcher and (probably) java have permissions.

If it didn't, temporarily disable your av while you play.

did but I think i have to downgrade my java to java6 to run it because it workt just fine until I installed java7
