So, for as long as I have been playing minecraft with IC, I had the problem with quantum armour guys going rambo. The modpack I currently use is Unleashed 1.1.3. Assuming they have the "Ultimate solar helmet", the "GraviChestplate" and the remaining quantum suit armour, how on earth am I supposed to kill the said guy? There was an old trick with EV and HV-transformers, but the problem is that we are battling in an arena (for example), meaning that neither of us can modify the circumstances of the battle before the battle begins. There must be a way (which I unfortunately do not know, or do not think of right now) to end those guy's killing sprees. I'm almost sure that everybody had a problem with this kind of guy.

Why on earth would quantum armor be allowed in an arena match?...

I see similar situations in Dungeons & Dragons Online... We have some taverns that link to the PvP areas. Rather than hang out at taverns that are in higher level areas most of these "He-men" prefer to hang out in the tavern that is most likely to be visited by level 1 players who are probably new to the game. These guys are too chicken to face opponents with comparable levels and gear.

The funny part about it is that PvP gains you absolutely nothing of value in the game... You can't take the opponent's gear and you get no XP. The only applicable in-game effects are wear and tear to your gear/armor/weapon and depletion of your ammo (arrows, xbow bolts) and spell component usage.

Tl;Dr: It's an ego boost thing for those with tiny egos, AKA "e-Peen"

I used to find these people while running on a lowbie and switch over to my wizard and go back and obliterate them and not leave the tavern till they left. I hated peeps that did that crap.

Pander to a mans ego and you can take control of that man. In the case of DnD online, they allow it becasue players like it. Of course yo have to ask the question as to whether MOST players like it and the answer will be mixed. It will boil down to "I hate being ganked but I love ganking".
Now a server might allow high level gear to be brought in to an arena because they are under the impression that players enjoy the unbalanced arms race aspect of Minecraft PvP.

Actually PvP didn't exist in DDO for the first year, it was added by forum demand. What is funny are the requests for modes such as Capture the Flag and Last Man Standing, which have been there all along, if you just click on the NPC at the entrances to the PvP areas.

Why do people even bother with minecraft pvp anyway? You might as well just play rock-paper-scissors and be done with it.

For a PVP area to work properly it must be entirely on skill not on the armor/weapons they are using. So to be even there should be rule like only non magical iron weapons and armor allowed. But, each server has their own set of rules. In the long run if can't set the rules then find a serer that you can agree to the rules on.
