Either portal gun or gravity gun, a steady hand (and a non-laggy server[1]) and a lot of time and patience.

Sent from my PC using a keyboard

[1] When I try to place blocks with a gravity gun, they often glitch around all over the place, so when I try doing it with rubber wood, they usually end up spontaneously turning into an item instead of going where I want them.

Never try to place a block on the ground, just walls. When placing on the ground, it loves to warp into the ground instead, destroying that block.

Next, just place dirt walls behind where you want the block to go. Now you can place the block you want against the wall and have virtually no chance of any of the weird stuff to happen.

@Shane: Probably for aesthetics.

They usually fly across the map for me. Eventually I found out that things you're carrying with those guns carry momentum, so if you release them while you're rotating the camera they'll get flung in that direction.
...Which doesn't explain how lag affects that, though.

Now, I do I have a question. You show a picture of all rubber producing logs, and I know HOW they were placed. The question is this. Those logs on the ceiling ... Do you have to hit the spot that produces the stick resin, or just the block? Cuz those ones on the ceiling might also produce resin too if that works. :)

Pretty much been answered but yeah I did it with a portal gun Tesser :]

Also the roof doesn't do anything it's just rubber wood because i made it a house of rubber had to do something with the other logs
