*Whistles more*

That's certainly not 100 mining turtles...

And that's certainly not a hollow hill.

*Runs out of breath from whistling and starts gagging*

Anyway.

I love setting up quarries over hollow hills. They're usually just the right size to be covered by a max size quarry.

Are those turtles running the built in tunnel script? if so you don't need that many, they dig a 3 wide tunnel.
Except you obviously don't need any since you're not doing anything >.>

I thought at least last time I checked the hollow hills were quarry protected. Did that change?

Personally the only "protection" I've seen on those before was the part where some odd quirks of chunkloading back somewhere in the 1.4.x sequence could actually result in a chunk reset (which I avoided by standing there and babysitting the thing). I've been merrily devouring those hills for cheap deep-earth resources since around the time the BC quarry energy changes went in, at least, so if they were protected it's a relatively new thing.

hmm don't know it they are quarry proof but the mazes are do to layers of bedrock

But turtles fit fine in tight spaces :3

Now I have to find a new server ._.

And I really don't want to until they revert the version of misc perf to 3.3e so chunk loading turtles work again ._.

Might be the chunk reset thing. I have never been a huge quarry user only messed with them when I first got into FTB. I remember tossing a quarry on one and losing it. But that was ages ago. For the most part a mining laser does the job quickly enough.

Also, I have quarried a maze, works great. Yes the bottom level has bedrock on top, but the quarry will remove everything above it and find the enterance to the bottom level for you... and building out of mazestone is awesome.

I have quarried hollow hills with no issues before as well.

I have yet to even find one yet but I move a little slow in modded minecraft.
I got lucky actually. That monster was only like 200 blocks from my portal. I always get really lucky with TF xD
