I built a fusion reactor fine just using quarries. I know thy're not everyone's favourite form of mass resource gathering but your post makes it sound like endgame is unreachable using quarries, they're fine.

I definitely agree. End game is PERFECTLY reachable using quarries. It is also reachable with iron picks, it just takes a lot longer.

It's all about how much time it takes to gather those resources. If I can mine more ore with 2 turtles, at a fraction of the start up and energy costs, how much more "reachable" does this make end game? Again, any solution works... eventually. It's more a matter of how easy it is to get there.

My statement stands in that by the time you are looking at a Fusion plant, you should have access to much faster mining solutions than the quarry. This doesn't mean you can't get there with quarries (or iron picks), and if my post inadvertently implied this I apologize most humbly.

I would post a screenshot of a coplayer's stock of many thousands of stacks of enderpearls, but his warded room is locked :(

Not recently.

Funny enough though....

BTW OP, I hope you realize that to actually use the power, you're going to need:

4 Supercondensators
and
16 HV Transformers and 16 "sinks" for 2048EU/t power, primarily AESU's
or
a matterfab, connected to all four supercondensators (with superconductor wire) on different sides.
and a quantity of superconductor wire.

You don't need the condensators and HV. The 32K load is shared equally by the HV transformers.

Ok, I just checked. You don't need the supercondensators, but you do need the 16 HV transformers to maximally use the power as they are capped to 2048EU/t out. Which also means if you're connecting direct to a matterfab, you need the 4 supercondensators or still need the 16 HV transformers.

Good response, I just didn't want anyone new to ftb reading your post and thinking they'd be unable to think about fusion reactors without having to learn lua or how to construct redpower frames.

I'm not against other forms of mass resource gathering but still like quarries for the simplicity of them, I can set up 3 max size quarries in a flat mystcraft ages in a couple of minutes and then forget about them until I come and move them over 50 blocks the next day.

Also, you don't have to learn Lua to use turtles. There's lots of great programs all ready to "get" from pastebin, over at the CC forums. I use turtles all the time and I couldn't code my way out of a paper bag. I also use quarries. And miners. And a LASER! They're all great, but lasers are the coolest.

Honestly, I don't think a fusion reactor looks that hard to build. No, you can't get the materials after playing for a week. But really, you should be building power sources first, once you have a decent power setup, you're getting decent uu matter production already, so all it takes it some time. I have 6 ultimate hybrid solar cells and make enough uu matter to add another one every other day (and that will just get faster with each one I build, obviously). I figure that, once I get to 10 ultimate hybrids, i'm just going to stock up on uu matter to get the iridium necessary. As for chrome, 22 stacks of rubies really isn't that much. I have that much and I haven't even been trying (just running quarries). Titanium is probably going to be the toughest to get, but even then, I will just be using uu matter for that.

Really wish I could find a witch hut, though. I've searched 4-5 swamp biomes and still haven't found one. Would love to automate redstone production.
