If YOU had only one mod to take out of Ultimate, forever, what would it be?

Then you've fallen into that old fallacy: insisting you have a right to dictate how others play. I like the portal gun the way it is, but you're welcome to saddle yourself with unnecessary tedium if it pleases you. So long as I don't have to do so, too.

I misspoke. What I meant was that I'd rather see that option reversed, so the default requires power and you have to do extra work to make it cheaty. I also think NEI should have its configs defaulted to cheat mode disabled for the same reason. There's nothing wrong with having the option, but just having it out in the open is kind of...a little too casual, IMO

I would go with EE3, but I want everyone to know that I'm not dissin' the mod.

I started out in Mindcrack before moving to Ultimate and had a great time with the sort of hardships Gregtech put me through. It took me forever to build my fusion reactor (partly because I had to wait for 1.0.2) but I'm proud of how far I came. I understand its not for everyone.

EE3 on the other hand, is the exact opposite. Its kind of contradictory if you're like me and you have the time to rise to the Gregtech challenge. Those of us who are looking for that sort of hardcore experience really don't want something to shave hours off the gameplay.

I understand that EE3 gives an option on the same modpack for two different types of players to coexist on the same server. I'm just saying if I had to pick one, EE3 would be it. I want to see the factories of my servermates and the stories of how they got there.

I do hope to see everything else stay, and for a more configurable experience all around.

I loved RedPower 2. I hardly use it anymore because I know it might get removed, but I'm not offended. My first and long standing sorting system was RP2 based. I think Eloraam did a good job on the mod, I'm really rooting on it getting updated just in time for the official 1.6 release. If not, again, I won't be offended. People should be allowed to make mods for fun, even if the mods are very good and make crowds of people angry when they don't get updated.

XyCraft crystals are super annoying... but multitanks are super awesome. Totally worth it IMO.

SecretRooms, it isn't really doing any harm. I like how it adds more click-to-open door options that zombies can't break.

Seriously Mojang you should know, iron doors SUCK. Wooden doors are awesome. I like manually opening my doors.

Basically EE3 is the only thing where if someone on my server said "I used EE3 to build this," I would feel like "Aww come on! Why?" I guess the same could be said for Xeno's Reliquary and Alkahest, but I love the coin of fortune and shooting at The Wither with a gun was fun.

I don't think I'd remove any mod really, though I agree with the earlier sentiment that GregTech shouldn't be on hardmode by default, that should be an option when starting the pack.

Can I revise my statement: Xycraft OMG I HATE THAT MOD! Sorry soaryn but so far all it's done is cuase my barrels to overflow with xycraft ores and the crystals...I take crystals to the nether and burn them in the lava one by one I hate them so much.

I personally like the mod. Although the countless crystals can be annoying :p.

;)[DOUBLEPOST=1368575193][/DOUBLEPOST]I would say RedPower
I don't want Eloraam to think her mod is good anymore. If she can't update it then give it to someone else or tell people that it's dead.
Don't expect to be treated as a demigod because you created a great mod but not update it.
Also it messes with GregTech too much (ruby spawns) and GregTech/MFR/AE/etc. are all replacing it a bit at a time... So yea

I used to a Redpower fan. Now, not so much. I find that Eloraam has some neat ideas but the only part of her mod that I really use is red alloy wire and logic gates. (Oh, I absolutely hate the trees too)

you just read my mind... more or less

Not every machine in tube network has a replacement in Ultimate. And don't suggest Buildcraft. Buildcraft is tier1. RP2 is tier2.

if buildcraft is tier 1 then golems are tier 3

What's the point of this? I would be very happy to find this much posts about removing stuff, but in a "What you want to add to FTB?".
I mean, just fucking disable the mods, 3 clicks, maybe 4, is that too much? Maybe ppl use some mods that others don't, but the main thing about FTB is it's diversity. You can always disable mods, so why argue about this? Ppl is always screaming out loud "OMG EE3 IS OP!!!" and "OMG GT MAKES IT SO HARD" and later they "OMG I CAN MAKE IRIDIUM WITH EE3 FOR MY GT STUFF!! I LOVE THEM ALL!!"

SHUT UP. Fucking play and fucking stop filling the forums with this always present thing.

WE ALL FUCKING KNOW THAT SOME PEOPLE DON'T LIKE EE3, or GT, or *Insert questionable mod here*... FTB developers know too, BUT THEY AIN'T GOING TO DO A CHANGE EVERYTIME WE WANT!

Btw, I do remove secretrooms, it's buggy and i never use it, BUT it's usefull for ppl in servers who play differently than me, or you. LET THEM PLAY HOW THEY WANT!

calm yo tits down, we were giving opinions, not "REMOV DIS OP MOD RAI NOW!1!!1ONE!ELEVEN11!!1!"

The tesseract mod. It makes transporting items easy.

I think transporting things/energy over large distances should be more difficult.

That's fair. I don't agree, but I see where you're coming from.

True. I'm not bothered by that one. It's the item and liquid one which I think could require a bit more effort to keep running.
What about ender chests/tanks? They pretty much work the same, but require less infrastructure. And the chests have pouches. Also Thermal Expansion adds tesseracts, but it's a best mod.

Yeah I think that would be cool. I definitely wouldn't want to see them gone because they offer so much in the line of compactness and performance increases.

Ex. I'm Tesseracting Liquid Helium Plasma into my space ship because while building the fusion reactor into the ship itself would be cool, the constant movement of relevant cells through something like 200 machines (perma fusion automation) has dire effects on client side performance.

[I'm moving all my stuff into a mystcraft void world to protect it from worldgen in updates, removed mods and starting framerates around 40 instead of 400]

Eh, though I could argue about this all day, I'll say fair enough to everything but

Also it messes with GregTech too much (ruby spawns)

It's an incompatibility between Redpower and Gregtech, why specifically blame RP?

lol, RP vs Gregtech. In a thread full of people who'd like to see both removed, there's the conversation I want to see :p

That's fair. I don't agree, but I see where you're coming from.

Can we at least agree that NEI should start out in recipe mode instead of cheat mode? At least? There's playing survival and then there's pretending it's survival but chickening out at every little problem. It's the latter who should be doing extra work to unlock options, not the former.

I'd take out Soulshards. Not a huge fan of how exploitable and "cheap" it is.

From what I've read, it has actually changed a lot and been rebalanced for 1.5+ But I do have to agree that it makes some things ridiculously easy. I once used a tier 5 pigman spawner in combination with a minium stone to get myself a ridiculous amount of diamonds. (About 1500 in a few hours)
A few days ago, I probably would have said IC2, but since then I have changed my mind. I tried to start up a new 1.5.2 world without ic2 and realized how much I missed my diamond drill and nano saber and all of the cool tools that industrial craft adds. I also missed my ultimate solar panels and induction furnaces, but technically those are from addons.
Right now I would probably have to say equivalent exchange 3. In my own opinion, it makes getting things like ender pearls and obsidian way too easy early game, while these things were meant to be a challenge to obtain. I am going to miss the portable crafting though.
