Okay, I've been searching far and wide. I have FTB Ulimate, and when I hold shift on an item, I get this little menu ontop of it. Saying it's 4 quickness/2 flame/ etc. What mod is this?
I'm pretty sure plain paper also has knowledge, saves you having to get leather. You'll latch onto a few items that you always fall back to for certain aspects. Rubber = 2 impertio, 2 motus. Books for knowledge, of course, and so on.
It took me ages to realise that I could use flint and leather as easy sources of the tool/armour aspects. Who was making loads of shovels and iron helmets? This idiot right here.
Hey man, easy, I didn't even know you could use flint for them until I read your post. I made leather boots and wood shovels, never wasted iron on it.It took me ages to realise that I could use flint and leather as easy sources of the tool/armour aspects. Who was making loads of shovels and iron helmets? This idiot right here.

Also Natura berries and cotton are nice single aspect items.
My favorite is rubber though, it'll get you to golems really quickly once you get through the first tier stuff.
I always have extras from ransacking strongholds
Precantatio!
Mutatio!!
Fellatio!!!
Bappityboopy!

Thaumcraft is the only mod I know that almost requires a cow farm to get anywhere. Of course since it provides the necessary automation itself...
