Oh shush you.it's debatable if mystcraft comes into a play
I build them wherever I feel like, usually flatish, but this time around I decided to go for an in-mountain base. And next world I'll be living on the side of a mountain, but generally it's flat for the sake of having a nice place to build without having to terraform.
I prefer beautiful over beneficial, if I need something I don't mind traveling 3000m to get it, especially if it's in an ugly biome.
Generally I build mostly from wood for my main house, usually some Railcraft Quarried and Abyssal stone thrown in. And for my factory probably some bricks, and a smooth light floor. Though, my current world is mostly wood and stone bricks, because we don't have Railcraft in the modpack. Next world will probably be project red lights, quarried stone, abyssal, basalt, and marble.
I usually build as large as it needs to be, without being overly gigantic. I'm not a big fan of underground bases typically. I just hate having to dig everything out, and use like a billion picks and shovels to do it. I've never actually tried a proper floating base for more than 30 minutes.
I try to put my farms as far away as possible, because the MFR harvesters are REALLY annoying. Machines usually go in the main house for general use, and then in a big automation room for, well, automation. Utilities go as I see fit.
Not sure if sarcastic, or actually complimenting me. Anywho, I've taken multiple classes on the elements of design (line, shape, direction, color, texture, size, and value), as well as color theory, and I typically try to base my bases off of these elements and using them proper.Your an expert at this!
Nah, he said "make" which implies the user goes forth the effort into turning the matter into UU matter. Therefor, Mystcraft doesn't count.it's debatable if mystcraft comes into a play

well, with mystcraft you make the world which has UU matter. as i said it's debatable. my point was is that you can get UU matter without mass fab.Nah, he said "make" which implies the user goes forth the effort into turning the matter into UU matter. Therefor, Mystcraft doesn't count.
Mystcraft ages filled with Mass Fab floors, Lava generators and tons of lava.well, with mystcraft you make the world which has UU matter. as i said it's debatable. my point was is that you can get UU matter without mass fab.
they also have sheep pukingMystcraft ages filled with Mass Fab floors, Lava generators and tons of lava.
Then you watch as I blow up your hard work with a nuke!do I? what a bummer
Currently I am working on an underwater base. The down side is since I am playing FTBLight 2 no mffs to remove water. I know I can add it but I wanted to go low tech this time. All I can say is "All that sand...". Glad I found a desert and installed build craft and quarryplus. Currently it is built similar to the base that Dataless822 on YouTube is useing and building on. Saw his and decided to try it. Still got that add a lot of stuff to it yet. Like horse stables and an underwater passage to land. Nearest land is like 400 blocks away.
If you have openblocks they have a sponge which gets rid of fluid source blocks and in a 5^3 area and it doesn't leave flowing blocks everywhere either.

As far as how I like to build - I tend to play in creative for building because and in my last world I built a princess castle which had plenty of space for machines (cos I like to mix creative and survival to my own whim) which I was building up but then I was getting chunk resets around my world and something else bad happened so I didn't get the interior finished but I was pleased with the outside.

Next big creative build I would like to build Arendelle from Frozen but I am not sure if I have everything ready to do that yet. Also, I don't know which biome would be best for that (I use BoP but if anyone suggests a biome from another mod that is perfect then I might change it up a bit). If anyone did suggest a good biome to use I sure would appreciate that. At any rate my Arendelle will be less garish than my last castle
yeah. i like explosions. especially with grief protectionThen you watch as I blow up your hard work with a nuke!
Sounds like an exciting process?
You can't know how much I have been dying to derail any thread by declaring how much I love that film, especially since that redpower-cum-no topic thread got closed. At least this way I got to say it while sticking in the confines of the topic - I legitimately think Arendelle will make a nice minecraft base - I just need a good fjord like biome (that is not a crag).Don't forget Olaf! (Gotta love that thing!)
Nah you just use the Star Fissure that you ofc included in the recipe for the world. The only thing with bases in mystcraft, if you lose your book, your screwed!
