I like reading.

Vote Read 2016.
Reading vs Information Technology... tis a close one
Of course without the benefit of the printing press, a large portion of humanity would still be unable to read, much less create computers etc, so reading wins there. But now people can do their reading ON computers, so reading and IT have sort of melded into one.

I'll vote for IT though, as the most influential invention of recent times.

To OP Please don't make doubles or even triples of threads on the same problem.

I replied to the other thread, in future don't cross post there's no point to it.

You may need to post it here since i deleted the other 2 threads and kept this one.

Also everyone else get back onto topic or don't post in this thread.

Are you talking about a LAN world? or a server that you retrieved from the launcher.

If it isn't a lan world, then do the following:

Are you sure you didn't just download a new server and run that?

If so, then the reason is because you are running a fresh server and it could mean that your old server is just saved somewhere else

Make sure you have a good look to see if you can find where it used to be and if you do find it, find the folder entitled 'world'
Make sure to keep a copy of these files somewhere else in case
Then find the folders which contain the new server you downloaded
Delete the folder entitled 'world' in the new one and copy the one you grabbed from the older server into the server files

if you are unable to find the old server then have a look in your recycle bin (this should be found on your desktop)

If you can't find your old server, it may have been deleted completely but if i remember correctly files that are deleted are never actually deleted
They are just stored somewhere and files can be saved over it so try and find a program that could find this.

if it is a lan world, tell me because it may have deleted the saves folder but normally updates don't do this

It did for me once. Well, technically it only updated because it crashed weirdly and thought it needed to update, but it definitely deleted my saves folder. But updating normally shouldn't cause this.

I don't have any file recovery programs but this page here might help. I just googled file recovery and this was the first link that came up so I'm unsure about the quality of these programs.

Also did you make sure you checked your recycle bin, because that is where all deleted files go and they are only truly unable to be found once you empty it
