I've not seen one like that before... I'm usually looking for Natura Redwoods and sometimes come across trees that have been sheared off by meteors, however.

This usually happens when the tree is on two chunks and the chunk resets. When a chunk resets it usually is regenerated with vanilla.

I've seen many mountains carved out by chunk resets but don't recall a tree.

Don't know what caused it but that could make an epic back wall for a new base.
