Okay its a lot easier when you can modify other mod's recipes as you see fit =P when the only mod I can really focus on is my own it makes it a little harder.

True and untrue. You can always talk to other mod authors about adding code to overide their recipes with your own. Make it a bool config defaulting to false to let players have the choice.
It would be easier to add it your side than theirs and load after them, though.

Yea I had considered that in the past.

Maybe if your crazy Metallurgy overrides end up interesting enough we could implement them as an optional config
