55 I upgraded OSX the other day... looks like it uses a slightly different font now, where 0 is just a little bit wider than it used to be. I wouldn't have noticed it, were it not for the clock in the top bar displaying two of them in a row for a minute of every hour.

It's caught my eye twice today.

56 you mean the default font is a bit different I hope? or can't you change it at all?

57 The default is a bit different, yes; it may be possible to change it; however, I don't know how to and it doesn't bug me enough yet to look into it.

61 so, first minecraft decides that it is a good idea to glitch me into the ground almost killing me. It then decides that its a good idea to spawn a grue next to me while I dig out >_<
oh, well at least the mod does what I want it to do and kills people that are in the dark.

One stack

I see. Yeah, that could be a problem.

Is there a way to make the grue spawn no less than, say, four blocks from a player in a dark area (and not inside a wall)?

65 not really, and I think that there was a random 1 block missing in the ground right above me which I digged open. Either that or the grue spawned in the same block as me right after I digged a block.
(side note: the config file has an option to enable daylight grues, they spawn when the light level is above 14. I see no option to disable the normal grue, so either it switches it and doesn't say it does or........)

66 So just don't go outside during the daytime, and don't go outside during the night. Evenings are OK, as are nights if you spam torches everywhere.

67 to be honest, I never saw one or got killed by one during the night. In caves I got killed once (not counting the glitch)
You just need to be very careful that the light level is always between 2 and 14

I think moonlight is light level 4, so yeah, you wouldn't see one outside at night.

I wonder if it's possible to configure grues to spawn in light level 4 or below.
*cannot be bothered to track down that "EEEEEEEEEVVVVIIILLLLL.... maybe..." gif that Withy occasionally posts everywhere*

69 then you need another mod that can edit the spawn rules of mobs as the config for the grue is sadly enough very limited it has this line though which can give you an idea of how much damage they normally do
# Toggles wimp-mode, which reduces the Grue's damage output to a 6.505213034913026604750013415713e-19th of the default.
B:"Wimp mode"=false

70 I gotta say, that is one spectacularly unhelpful comment.

Might be doable by ASMing into the mod's class files... then again, it'd probably be easier to just write a whole new mod that's more configurable.

Is Grue open-source, by any chance?

72 Well, I tracked down the guy's GitHub... and all his repos are AbyssalCraft. No grues to be seen.

Ah well. I was hoping I could make a pull request.

73 I'm currently waiting for the golden chipsets so I can hook up the first layer of chests with provider pipes. LP already gets power which means that making the chipsets is even slower then before. :(

You could replace the chipsets with golden gears... but you already said you're low on gold, so I guess that's out of the question.

Disconnecting your logipipes could help if they're not doing anything important.
