I have plenty of airflow, but I always get worried when my laptop gets hot. When does it get to the point of damaging the hardware? Does it have to be really really hot, becusse I get to the point where I can only hold my hand right on the air output for only a few seconds before it gets too hot, but I can't feel heat any other areas that are nearly as hot as the air output

10fps is comfortable. Omg, I can't stand less than about 40...

Yes, it's terrible....TERRIBLE! And that's with everything "Fast" or "off"

Thats how i used to play, how i learned minecraft, modding and all its glory, at 5-10 fps, tiny minimal settings possible. Now i have a semi-decent computer that gets 20fps on a 128x TP :O you have no clue how amazing the change was.

EDIT: Just a quick little tip, turning on lazy chunk loading in optifine got me from 15-20 fps to 20-30

There's a big 15 year old desktop downstairs, and I get 8 fps with it. So I'm sticking to that, but the mouse is annoying.

FTB does not allow private pack codes without being let in to some exclusive club (I'm sure KirinDave would love to elaborate) but is much simpler and easy to use.
MultiMC allows anyone to create a modpack and instance, but is complicated and can have many errors regarding installation and manual things.

That makes it 1998, knowing how much RAM and disk we had at the time, as well as the CPU and graphics cards, I am more amazed that it runs it at all.
Must have been a real beast when he was young^^

the ftb launcher deletes your configs when you update, deletes mods you added and readds mods you deleted.

Ohh really? Exclusive? All you need to do is create a pack, gather permissions (For the current Ultimate pack you would not have to ask a single dev due to them having given us permission or mod is open source, you just need to remove XyCraft) and send us a PM.
Now if you think this is exclusive then i can't help you.

* Resolve ID Block errors
* Create Config Pack

To use a config pack, you:

* Download Config Pack (file size less than a tenth of a Megabyte)
* Have the mods on your computer. Basically, have already used FTB to have most of the mods, then manually download the one or two that aren't in it
* Use config pack to create a new instance.

Done.
