Hi

I am on a server with greif prevention and player claim areas.

I have a filler that i want to fill in an area.
It works to clear an area, but not fill it.

I set it up like this:
http://prntscr.com/1tmseo
http://prntscr.com/1tmsip

Just a small area for testing now.

It worked fine to clear a huge room for me. Now i want to fill in. But why cant i get it to work?
This is the setup in the filler.
http://prntscr.com/1tmsr6

I tried to claim the area im in and do /trust [buildcraft], /trust [[buildcraft]], /trust [minecraft]
but nothing works.

So what am i doing wrong here?

Try breaking the filler and replacing it. I've had those randomly not work before, and then be just fine when I broke it and set it back up in the exact same configuration. Maybe relog when you do it for good measure.

I´ve set this up more than 5 times now. Removing everything, reclaiming everything...
Tested in singelplayer and it works fine.

Donno what is up.

I don't suppose you're too close to spawn or something? I don't play on servers very often, so I'm not sure what else might be having an impact there...

Nah not to close to spawn. Since the filler works to Clear the area but not to fill it, something feels wierd.

This may or may not be your problem, but the last time I had trouble with a filler, I discovered I was using those double-slab bricks instead of just plain bricks. They look the same, but the filler doesn't recognize the double-slabs as legit for the UI. Perhaps it's a problem like that?

Edit: just looked at the screencap of the UI, and it looks that that's not your problem - when I made my stupid mistake, the UI didn't even respond with the little pattern showing what it was gonna do. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful :(

I had a problem similar too this back in 1.4.7. What I found to work was to move the filler to another space. You can move it over by 1 and fill in the rest by hand or try a different corner of the area you need filled. I have only had it happen 1 time to me so I think it is a rare bug. Not too sure why it happens tho.

Tho I will admit I know next to nothing about the /trust perms, I don't think that is the problem. He said it was able to clear an area so we know it is working. When I had the same issue in1.4.7 I was in SSP. That being said, it is still possible that the perms are the issue. I just don't know enough about them. My advice would be to try moving the filler and see if that fixes it then if not investigate the perms.

Breaking blocks always works "out of the box" in permed areas, placing blocks however does not.

Huh, didn't know that. I would think that block breaking would not work in permed areas to help reduce griefing.

I /op'ed [buildcraft] and that seemed to resolve the problem on my server. And yes.. I realize the potential problems this causes so a non-op method would be awesome :D

I wonder if this still is the only solution, considering a year has passed since this question has been answered :p
