I took a bit of a break & decided to make a fresh start. Tech trees are slow to develop because there are a lot of crafting rabbit holes I haven't felt like chasing down yet, but I've got the bulk of my base's shell built. There are plans to add carpenter's blocks to the keep, but I wanted to start without.

That is why the fountains are there, even though they take up half the courtyard space. I'm going to try to make my thaumcraft tower more visually interesting. The plant is the Blue Power version of flax. String for days! Blue Power's volcanos are much nicer than Project Red's, & they all seem to have a secret toy surprise inside.

It is about half of the DW20 pack with a handful of other mods thrown in. I have an EnderIO tank under the coke oven transferring creosote to the Railcraft tank, 1 item buffer pushing into the coke oven, & a 2nd item buffer pulling from the coke oven & pushing into the blast furnace.

Awesome. I've been considering moving to a mutant hybrid of DW20, and Etho, but haven't been able to get Etho's to download.

Can't wait to see some more.

well at any rate it's better than what I have had in my best worlds... after 6 months of play

Dont tell me the username is meant to be ironic. As for MacAislings' thaumcraft tower, well...the design is ok but the colors are too garish for my tastes. Not trying to be discouraging or anything. I usually like to build things that look like something that might exist in reality, with a particular theme like medieval and judge my success on how accurate it is. Your tower looks a bit like a mosque though.

Actually I hate the name, its the result of a new and stupid member of the first forum ever signed into... I was a bit impatient in choosing my name back then and as far as I know there's no way to change it. Also FTB has an outdated email that is currently making my life miserable

If you replaced the floor of your castle with a different material (id go for that flat chiseled cobble, large cobblestone tile I think it's called) maybe add a what do they call them borders around the bottom of walls?

The Thaumcraft building I wasn't sure about the colors but I think its a taste thing and it looks like a sound design. I tend to stick with the gothic purple motif Thaumcraft goes so well with, but I guess I am being unimaginative here. I try to use materials from the mods I am useing if they provide matching decorative blocks.

The large tiles are an okay floor, but if you have to stick something down in the floor, they make it a pain to cover because it doesn't play well with the connected textures. I prefer the large cobble bricks instead. Though for the wall, I like dent that has the border around it as the bottom row. It separates the wall from the floor without looking too sharply different and works well going between Cobble and Stone Brick.

I was lucky enough to find an emerald in a chest early, so with a silk touch TiCo hammer, stone was what I was getting far too much of. Be grateful that I took the time to gather wood for the ceilings in the towers. I'm not changing the floor & I'm not adding a wainscoting.

I am making a little progress on my ME system (storage is up w/ 4K cells). I also finished my Big Reactors turbine (I gave in & went to the End for enough ender pearls to make the stack of enderium blocks needed to make 32 ludecrite blocks). Next I need to work on dimensional transceivers & capacitor banks. I've also started using Bibliocraft clocks to pour from my smeltery (shift-right-click with an empty hand to open the GUI, you can set it to emit a redstone signal & you can TURN OFF the ticking noise).

Medieval Europeans would never build anything too garish?

Ah, Rococco. How lovely. Especially the dirty picture on the headboard. :D

I like stone buildings. I just like more than one stone type. You can actually click on block with the chisel to change it in place. Don't recall the exact method, but I've seen it done.
