When I crank up my run speed on my Modular Power Suit legs, my FOV (Field of View) changes dramatically, to an unplayable state. It's like the game is coded to say "the faster you move, the bigger your FOV should be", similar to how when you sprint (vanilla), your FOV changes ever-so-slightly.

But when the insane speed increase from the MPS pants, it's a huge FOV change.

Can I turn this "feature" off?

Well, the game IS coded to say "The faster you move, the more FOV you get".

I know that the Direwolf20 1.6 pack removes the FOV change on sprint / speed up (annoyed me with the sprint though, as I can't really tell when I'm sprinting anymore :T)
.. I have no idea what's causing the FOV change removal, though.

You can't blame the mod maker for trying to be realistic.
If you were super-natural and ran super-fast you wouldn't have the same real-life FOV when walking.
Maybe look in the configs to change or just replace the mod config from your pack to Direwolf's config for the mod.
TIP: Decrease your ("Power" I think it's called) speed on the slide bar when on the tinker table and you will get less FOV.

Hehe, a few things

1) I don't think its the mod maker's fault, I think its a Function of minecraft
2) In real life, you'd have the same FOV no matter what speed you were going. FOV is not determined by your velocity, it's determined by your eyeballs![DOUBLEPOST=1397244418][/DOUBLEPOST]

This is interesting, anyone know how to disable the FOV change on sprint/speed up? I'm using the Monster pack

1) The mod maker made the mod, it's his decision whether your FOV changes, he could disable it if he wanted.
2) I don't think you can decide that, you aren't super-natural.

If you want to outsmart people, learn to walk before your you learn to run. :)

1. The mod maker is female, and it IS hardcoded into MC
2. Your eyeballs still determine it, not velocity

Again, you are not super-natural, but yes, your eyes probably determine it, I shall now agree with you.
I'm sorry I got the gender wrong.
Now please, don't make a fight of this, I have seen too many beings who were born to start fights out of simple things.
Conversation. SystemEnd;

I think it's fair to say that this problem is solved.
Please put "(Solved)" in your thread title, thanks! :)

I've noticed that you flame bait quite often then backseat moderate when you're proven wrong. Just pointing that out.

Well, I shall not become a fight starter, nor shall I continue it. No-one is perfect.
I try to gain just the tiniest piece of respect or likes, yet those who rebel and ruin the forum seem to receive it.
How do you think it feels to always be fought against? Then seeing the amount of people backing that person up, just for the sake of it?
Is there a treaty I'm missing out on?

I create a guide = No-one cares
I'm creating a modpack = Not much interest
I give out likes often for the sake of it = People rebel and some show no respect

People like slowking yxx3a Pierce SG padfoote and redboss are well liked and respected within the community. This isn't because there is a treaty it's because they've been around for quite a while, they don't start flame wars, they assist the moderators whenever they can, and they are nice.
If you know them you know that and clearly you don't know them. I would really like to see more people rise to our rank but first you need to fit the bill and help out.

Also bring knowledgeable helps. Maybe you should hop on Irc and chat with the mod author to figure things out. Or spend a week in creative building and testing. Or look through configs and see all they have to offer.
Edit: forgot some really important people

In numina.cfg (located in config folder "machinemuse"):

B:"Ignore speed boosts for field of view"=true

Thank you!!!!

@ realsketch, on the FOV thing, just to clarify, a being's field of view is determined by the design of its eyes. For example, frogs have a large field of view, because their eyes are huge and protrude from their head, thus allowing them to see in front of them, behind them, to both sides, above them, etc. A human's field of view is much smaller, we can only see in front of us, because our eyes are on the front of our skull, and also, our eyes don't stick out from our face. As you can see, just because you run fast doesn't mean you can suddenly see further to the side/further up and down/or behind your head. :D

In all honesty, before this config option, the change in FOV is what turned me off from power suits completely. I'm glad there's a way to eliminate that change and it benefits all players who use fast travel. For those who think mod items are the only thing to make you fast enough to experience the vanilla FOV "bug" then drink a vanilla speed II potion and run fast. You'll see it there as well.
