If anyone is interested i have a BoP seed that includes a Mystic Grove bordering a Ominous Forest at (-243, +206), along with an underwater Crag nearby at (-271, +469), that thing goes down to level 7 at some points, would be a perfect place for an underwater base. Also nearby the Grove/Forest are Healthlands (With two Villages), Cherry Blossom Grove, Bayou, and Tropical Forest.

It's for the Resonant Rise public pack, but it should work with Unleashed as far as i know.

I honestly don't see the issue with having both. They both have wonderful features that compliment eachother wonderfully with a little bit of config option magic to disable the identical ones.

So while this thread is temporarily re-animated...

Imagine what biome mods could do for us if we had cubic chunks instead of linear ones. Quasi-infinite world height without any performance hit. Take a look at this video (not Minecraft, but a custom engine that looks very similar) to see what it would feel like to have mountains rising over one thousand blocks above ocean level. For some strange reason, this idea used to be all the rage a year or two ago, but has since been forgotten. There even used to be a mod for this while Minecraft was still in beta, but it too fell into obscurity.

TBH, minecraft doesn't need such epic scaled terrain generation, but updating to cubic chunks would help performance even more.

All Minecraft needs is the ability for people to create their own worlds in their own image. Limiting that based on abstract personal concepts of what minecraft should or should not 'need' isnt a good idea. Choice isnt bad.

wow. . .
that. is. AWSOME.
CC needs updated pronto, and added to one of the FTB packs. hint hint hint.
imagine BoP/EBXL terrain with say, 1000 block high limits. more varied structures under the ocean. HUGLEY more varied terrain overland.
latest BoP is already generating the Alps biome to take advantage of the 256 limit.
