Yeah, zero lava and one water used for cobblestone, one millibucket of lava and one bucket of water for smoothstone, and I think it is one bucket of both lava and water for obsidian. It is a wonderful device. No power required, either!

Yeah. It's one of the most under-appreciated machines in TE (up there with the steam engine). For folks who do not know: just remember that this device can go crazy out of control if not controlled carefully. Buildcraft gate logic on the output is the bare minimum you should be able to do.

Oh, I did not know that! Thanks! I didn't count anything Minum stone or Scrap/UU Matter. Minum Stone cause it costs...a Minum Stone, and Scrap/ UU because anything can be used to make it. There are probably a ton of things I'm missing, but I haven't really made an official list because I never thought there was a need.

Now, to find ways to make infinite Clay...Oh...Already posted...

Cool!
But a bit overcomplex, though I need a wheat farm in order to get me some seed oil and some mulch, why not just make infi-clay from it?

Actually, there's a second way - centrifuging tin dust gets you zinc and iron.

So what's your diamond method? the crusher?

True, true, true. Bah cobble is so useful, I don't think I even make half the stuff I and other people mentioned.
Yes, I crush, though I don't use it because I have more diamonds I need, and the Unlimited Obsidian and Flint to provide me with the resources to make diamonds IC2's way (Oh, have a wither skeleton spawner too).

Well i guess you can say you can use cobblestone to practically make anything but the methods to get there are sometimes a little absurd, and sometimes unrealistic

Compared to IC2 miner/quarrying for diamonds, yeah. But cobblestone can be used constantly, and scales easily.

I wish i could do all of this stuff, but some of the things that were mentioned i have never heard of, i need to establish my sorting system before i attempt anything else, i may attempt the steam boiler rather soon though, as that seems a solid way to get energy, but i need to make some sugar cane farms to supply it with fuel i believe?

A good sorting system (RP2 tubes and barrels) is a good first step before you start REALLY digging into it.

You do not need a sorting system until you have some significant auto-mining capability. Even a quarry is not enough to require it. Go at your own pace and do what you think is fun. If you start with thermal expansion, you can go a long way with just hoppers and connected thermal expansion machines.

I disagree. A decent autosorting system is something I would consider a requirement for running an IC2 miner, let alone a quarry. Of course, the amount of time spent organizing stuff is only a few minutes (two to five, usually). Quarries tend to be closer to five to fifteen minutes per 64x64 run. And all of that is time I could be spending watching my macerator which is super-fast.

I've got a person on my server that has no sorting at all. What he does is this: He builds four to eight new diamond chests every time he moves his quarry.

DON'T be that person!

i agree, my sorting system is sorting literally every item i can harvest, and or mine, i think if i have this down i will stop running around trying to find a ore or a specific small part and then making one thinking i didn't have one and soon finding one afterwards. I am making great progress on my sorting system, but the cobblestone issue arose but i know now that i need to store more cobble than i thought, i guess ill have a basement where i just have cobble barrel run offs.

Just make one extradimensional barrel upgrade, and store one extradimensional barrel of cobblestone, and you will likely be fine on cobblestone forever.

^^Pssh, I've gotten more saplings than that :p.

What you should do is keep one extradi barrel, then void the rest. Igneous Extruders are the way to go.

Instead of voiding it, assuming you have an EU power net, you should turn it into scrap. You can normally get away with two storage upgrades and eight overclocker upgrades to handle a 50MJ/t quarry running through smoothstone, which you will want fed by an MFE into an LV transformer.

Then just pull the scrap out, and turn it into scrap boxes, and then store those until you get your matter fabricator ready. If you get too many, start opening them for an early Craftsmas party.

How much cobblestone does that store?

I just looked into scrapboxes i will most certainly set that up!

Then just pull the scrap out, and turn it into scrap boxes,

How do i just pull the scrap out?

What is it...1024 stacks? Then again, forestry has those carpenter storage things, so you can store 9 cobblestone in one...though that's not really necessary.

Cobblestone is like BuildCraft energy. It's not meant to be kept. You have it and use it.
May I suggest the least laggy scrapboxinator? Take all your wooden hoes/swords, and void them or use them for fuel. What I think I will do eventually is put them back into the Recycler for more scrap.

Each barrel will store 64*64 of the item it is given first.

Each extradimensional barrel will store 1024*64 of the item it is given at the start.

Wooden pipe with a redstone engine on the side of the recycler works well enough.

Mm, and then store THOSE in an extradimensional barrel, so you get 9*1024*64 cobble in a single barrel. Perfect!

Yeah, I just set up a scrapboxinator that does exactly that. I suggest you set it up using a blacklist instead of a whitelist, as I found that I wanted to keep over half of the stuff so it was easier to just send the stuff I did not care about into a recycler.

You will also want a hopper on the recycler to catch stuff as a default speed recycler is just slightly too slow. And don't use gold pipes. You don't NEED item speed in this setup.

sweet, i just did this in my single player, one scrapbox allows you to get one item? because i have creative turned on i can't tell? or is it multiple items?

One scrapbox has a chance to turn into one of seventy-two possible items, from wooden hoes 8.32% of the time, to diamonds 0.04% of the time. It is a nearly worthless way to get diamonds (although it isn't too bad for getting empty cells/water cells), and it is a fun thing to do. Right click with the scrapbox in your hand to use it.
